  1. Seriously. Someone even posted about how we should extend him now way back in April lol
  2. Doesn’t have to be either or. It’s possible they could acquire Escobar and Cruz (not that I think this “story” is legit).
  3. They typically carry a third catcher. I would think the spots would go to a reliever (maybe 2) and Yermin/Zavala.
  4. Agreed with this and similar to what I was saying earlier.
  5. FWIW, 40 man is at 39 (I believe). Edit: just saw your responded. I'm pretty sure no one was added to the 40 since the Eaton dfa.
  6. I see his salary is $1m. Who is on the hook? Is it the Nats, the team he started with this year?
  7. Yeah I assumed he was making pennies but I could be wrong. The 40-man is also at 39 (if I remember and counted correctly).
  8. Right which is why I'm not sure that they would sign him. Unless as chisox59 said, they signed him to a minor league deal and then just called him up in a couple days when needed to not have to make an immediate roster move.
  9. Agreed. Personally, I think he should have just rode it out until the end of the minor league season and then spoke to the front office in the off-season to see if there was a way a trade could be worked out to literally anywhere for anything. He may have even made it back to the team with rosters expanding by 2 as they normally carry a third catcher (obviously in this case, he would just be an emergency catcher/given the chance to be a pinch-hitter).
  10. Yeah ignore me on this one. I saw another quote (now I have no idea where) but it was from someone who posted the lyrics to the song El Retiro and it was basically identical to his situation, which is why he posted "El Retiro."
  11. The Sox could have just claimed him, no?
  12. Yeah it does become a bit of a crunch but I could also see Sheets going down since he can be option and keeping Goodwin, not that I really care if they decide to cut Goodwin. I think you're right about Lamb though and he can just be DFA'd/traded for cash considerations or something.
  13. Hopefully after discussing with Sox management and a phone call from TLR, he decides to stick around. Ride it out for the next month and like 10 days and then figure out your next step from there whether it be retiring officially or going oversees, etc.
  14. It's just a lower level priority than another reliever (arguably 2), a 2B, and a RF.
  15. Abreu struggling in any way is how Ron gets off.
  16. If I had to guess myself, I’d say Rays.
  17. Ah yes, just what we need: another DH.
  18. Even if part of it was hating the pay and way they travel in the minors, the season is over what, end of August/early September? With rosters expanding by 2 in September, he probably would have been called up as a “third catcher” and pinch hitter against lefties.
  19. So assuming he 100% walks away but decides in the off-season he wants to try again, would he technically be controlled by the Sox? I assume the Sox would release him and let him to go to Japan or something.
  20. He’s getting his timing back.
  21. Yeah I think we would all pull the trigger on this.
