They can bring in someone a bit younger to be a mentor. Someone who might have some upside to bring at least bring something back in a deal like a Gio Gonzalez. Or hope Pomeranz can pitch like he did the 2 years prior to last year.
We need something more than a rumor at this point. I've lost interest in hearing rumors and am waiting for the "Manny Machado/Bryce Harper to sign with ________" headline.
This team was in desperate need of a rebuild for sure. However, skepticism, at the start of the rebuild, of if the right people are in the front office to lead the rebuild is completely fair,
Yeah I like the Lowrie idea (and liked them as a fit for Murphy as well before he signes). Lowrie at least helps balance out a righty heavy lineup being a switch hitter. He's also just a good player in general. That ballpark would feel so small to him having played a lot of his career in Oakland lol and without Didi, I'm pretty sure the only lefty bats are Gardner and Hicks.
Yeah how do they not have money? Lol it's one thing if someone said "payroll space under luxury tax" but even then, a first year penalty for 20% for the overage isn't really that bad.
