Right. For the Sox it makes sense. But I don't think it does for the Dodgers. At least not without getting something back. Wood isn't some albatross contract and has value. Kemp even had a good year with the bat but is only a DH now. I honestly think they will move him sometime after Cruz signs.
Yeah and I would even think a team that misses on Nelson Cruz (Rays? Twins? Astros?) would be an option for Kemp for one year. Pure salary dump but still.
Like someone posted earlier this week, it would be incredible to sign Machado and then sort of help the Dodgers out by taking on 2 (or all 3) of Puig, Pederson, and Wood filling 3B with Machado, and then 2 OFs or an OF and a SP.
Good. He can finally play every day at one spot. Sucks he only has 2 years of control left. Likely means Lowrie is gone. I still think he would be a great pickup for the Yankees (if they miss out on Machado) with Torres shifting to SS. Or even Rockies as a replacement for LeMahieu since Murphy is at 1B.
If we miss out on both, I'm down for that. Or some combo Pederson, Puig, and Wood. If you land Pederson and Puig, you suddenly have an MLB-caliber OF when Eloy comes up with Eloy-Pederson-Puig LF-RF.
I think someone mentioned it earlier, but if you're even remotely considering signing them both together, you might as well go all out and secure one at the highest bid.
