  1. This series is far from over but I don't like the Mets chances at this point. That sweep of the Cubs had a cost. Six days of rest and their rhythm is off. Daniel Murphy is looking human now as well. It should be interesting what happens next with the series shifting to New York. Mets need to win tomorrow.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 03:22 PM) As a Sox fan, and a Cubs hater, I believe I owe the Mets my rooting interest. Sweeping the Cubs not only knocked the Cubs out this season, but may have an effect in the future. Since the LCS went to best of 7, no team ever swept made the playoffs the next season. Like those stats matter.
  3. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) I'm still shocked we didn't try and involve him or Donaldson in the Shark trade last season. Anywho, I'd say some package of EJ. I'm not sure what his value is. Huh? Donaldson was already traded to the Jays when we did the Shark trade.
  4. I could care less. I think it's the Royals year, though. Last year got them the experience they need to pull this off.
  5. I can't see the Royals blowing it this time. I think they need to win this year since the odds will be against them getting back to the World Series next year.
  6. This is going to be a great series. Sucks for KC that they won't be back in the World Series, though. They're not going to beat the Jays in a 7 game series. Cubs vs Jays World Series.
  7. I can't wait til Saturday. Cubs are going to beat whoever they play in 6 games I think. Dodgers and Mets aren't too impressive. Cubs are on a mission.
  8. Both the Dodgers and the Mets aren't too impressive. Cubs are going to beat whoever they play the in NLCS.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:45 PM) People have said this now for months. Stop. They're good and the Sox are s***. Yeah, the reality of the situation is the Cubs are damn good. If they get past the Cards I think they will go to the World Series this year. Will they win it, though? We shall see.
  10. 3 outs away until the Cards season is over, thank God. Tired of hearing about them.
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:35 PM) Colon could be a cubs nightmare. I can see him pitching in every game. If the Mets even get to the NLCS. Kershaw on the mound tonight. He's due for a win. That series is going back to LA.
  12. Huge win for the Cubs. I'd say they're in good shape with Arrieta on the mound Monday night.
  13. Why do Cards fans want a curtain call for every little home run? That's annoying.
  14. Hendricks looks like he's settling in.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) I swear more than half your posts have been about wanting Cubs to win. You sure you're on the right board My whole mom's side of the family are Cubs fans so I cheer for them when they're not playing the Sox. I also can't stand the Cards.
  16. Haha! Meltdown by Garcia. I love it. Cubs need this game badly. Keep it up, Cubs!
  17. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) Would it be a fitting end if Arrieta gets shelled on Wednesday? or Arrieta will just pitch another gem. Probably more likely.
  18. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 12:12 PM) Just head on the Score that CC Sabathia is going to rehab (alcohol) and will miss the playoffs. That's odd. Yankees could use CC for the playoffs. That could be a huge blow for the ALDS+ if they beat the Astros on Tuesday. Why couldn't he wait until after?
  19. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) He is yanked after just getting two outs in the first. What a shame.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 05:36 PM) Tuesday- Astros (Keuchel on 3 days) vs Yankees (Tanaka) Wednesday- Cubs (Arrieta) vs Pirates (Cole) Keuchel and Cole has a nice ring to it. Keuchel and Cole, the two losing pitchers in the Wild Card games. Go Yankees and go Cubs!
  21. 1. Yankees - My second favorite team 2. Cubs - I have lots of family that are Cubs fans. I'm rooting for them to go far. 3. Rangers 4. Royals 5. Dodgers 6. Mets 7. Cardinals 8. Pirates 9. Blue Jays 10. Astros/Angels/Twins
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) I still cant help but feel like the "Cub factor" is going to show up eventually here. Not the curse but the fact that I have only seen it happen my entire life. Even when they seem to have everything in their favor something happens where it doesnt work out. But some were probably saying the same thing about our Sox in 05'. We will see but I can see Arrieta totally blowing this game. This young Cubs team is something special I think, though. That team reminds me of the 2008-2009 Blackhawks. Young team that can surprise some people.
