You forgot the best part of that interview. You know, the part where he was being scouted by teams other than his boyhood team, the Chicago White Sox. Mulder even went so far as to have his HS coach personally invite JR and the Sox scouts to a game that he was pitching in S Holland. And guess what the White Sox Organization did? If you said nothing, not even returning the mailer or sending just one scout to the game..... you'd be correct! After all, Who wants to sign good, young pitching to those pesky longterm contracts.

Maggs has never expressed a desire to leave the White Sox. The owner that signed him a few years ago to a contract that called for Maggs to be paid on the low end at the first part of the contract but to be paid $15 million for '04 is the person that wants to run Maggs out of town. But the Sox have offered to re-work Maggs' current contract to $15 million w/deferments. They've shown that they're willing to do anything to keep Maggs. Just another example of JR's cheapness and an unwillingness to honor the contract that he agreed upon years ago with Maggs.

His ass because no one I know has heard this. KW would be a fool to even sit on a Maggs/Tejada-Mulder deal considering they're looking for quality starting pitching and they're looking to dump Maggs contact.

The Sox agree to a contract with Maggs, put it in writing, and because JR is too cheap to honor the deal, the Sox wanna re-work it to $15 million in deferments. I'd have told them to, "go pound" too.
