  1. I didn't assume. I knew that money was ear-marked for Colon and Colon only. Using that money to fill a few holes would make entirely too much sense for His Cheapness.
  2. I don't think Everett will sign for half of what he made last year. And I'm surprised so many Sox fans want to trade Maggs for Soriano straight up. Maggs is worth Johnson and Soriano IMHO. But Maggs for Soriano has KW getting taken again written all over it. Not to mention, you want to give up entirely too much for an average OF in Johnson. And you want to pay a number 3 more than your number 1 and 2? Ponson ain't worth 7 million a season. He's Jon Garland, but he throws harder. I usually agree with alot of what you say. I disagree with this big time.
  3. I know. I wish I could have had the foresight to know that Game 6 was going to be a choke for the ages. I went from total dejection at the beginning of that 8th inning to complete elation 20-30 minutes afterwards. And when I was feeling down, I'd pop-in Game 7 to watch the pained, crying faces of the "diehards" as the Cubs went down in Game 7 without so much as a pulse completing the greatest Cubs Choke EVER!
  4. Yes..... it was. Considering the only way Jerry's Folley is getting rehabbed is by selling naming rights, it was a stab at JR selling the advertising rights of the White Sox by making their uniform jersey's look like NASCAR's.
  5. Next is on me next season at USCF PastTime. I couldn't have summed up KW better myself. KW is somewhat of a god around here for his misguided "aggressiveness" you know. Me and you don't share the popular opinion.
  6. They'll probably have their chance since Colon is most likely gone and since the Sox never really had a number 5 starter all of 2003 anyway. That's two spots in the rotation for one of them at least.
  7. Meaning Reinsdorf is asking the City of Tempe how much will they give him to move the White Sox' ST to their fair city. Probably asking for free rent while he's at it too. Cheapskate.
  8. Let's not go nuts here....the sCrUBBIE fans will NEVER EVER admit that the "Friendly Confines" are outdated, antiquated and obsolete. It's their little Baseball Palace, obstructed view seats and all. They LOVE having to watch TV monitors in the back of the seating areas just to see what the hell happened on the field ( if they even care ). They LOVE the cramped concourse and the endless array of ramps and stairs. Wiggley Feel is the way baseball was MEANT to be viewed and experienced!!! The fact of the matter is, removing the ONLY bad seats in USCF automatically ends the discussion. USCF was ALREADY a better place to watch a baseball game then Chewing Gum Park. There is not ONE bad seat on the lower level, and all the renovations are simply adding exclamation points to the argument against the Urinal. Don't forget either that guys like Moronotti will rip on USCF no matter what they do as long as the Unfriendly Confined still stands. I wish there was this much renovation being done to the team. You think MLB would be terribly upset if the White Sox sold advertising rights on their uniforms so the tight-wad would have no more excuses to NOT spend money ala Latin American and European Soccer teams ?
  9. Not as long as JR owns the team and said person values their job within the White Sox Organization.
  10. 1.) I don't like basketball. 2.) It's time for Reinsdorf to bring 6 rings to the White Sox.
  11. I hope the lawyer still defends his client otherwise he's a hypocrite. Everyone deserves to be defended vigorously to the fullest extent the law allows. At least, that is what a lawyer once told me.
  12. All criminals act like angels when they're in the public eye
  13. f*** Kobe. If Reinsdorf is seriously considering signing this piece of s***, then his mandate to KW of 'I only have $0.50 for every MLB $1.00' is total bulls***. The Bulls already have 6 rings that I could give two s***s about. Spend the money he's gonna commit to a rapist on the White Sox where you have ZERO RINGS Reinsdorf. YOU TOOL! :fyou
  14. There will probably be a number of books that come out about the Cubs 2003 season. One will most definitely be about the "Bartman Curse" and other cute, lovable little tomes about why the Cubs are cursed and should be loved by the world.
  15. So this is what KW meant when he was talking about being misquoted
  16. i.e., aggressive to the point where dollar figures aren't dramatically increased. Gimme a break. Thanks for sharing
  17. Didn't it have something to do with 'Lounge Lizards' ?
  18. Didn't it have something to do with 'Lounge Lizards' ?
  19. Agreed. The above definitely had a huge impression on their genre. I'll add a few more and probably get flamed in the process..... Heavy Metal: Metallica (Kill 'em All-And Justice for All) Pop Music: Michael Jackson Guitar Virtuosity: Jimi Hendrix
  20. Considering the majority of us here seem to be BlackHawks fans, where is the 'comedy relief' choice ? Seriously..... when I played I was a goaltender. So goaltending.
  21. Would have been somewhat easier without the 6 million we're going to owe a "Twilight" Frank Thomas. With this news, if the Sox are going to make any significant moves this offseason, they will have to shop around PK. Or Magglio, right? Wouldn't that seem more likely, given his salary, production, and the fact that it's his walkaway year? The thought has crossed my mind Ghost. I'd rather them find a way to unload PK at this point. If we deal Maggs simply because Frank Thomas is JR's boy and money restraints self-imposed by JR himself, then that is a f***ing shame. Maggs is 10 times more the "franchise" player right now than Frank Thomas is. But Maggs is due to make more than Thomas so it make sense for JR I guess.
  22. Say what you all will about Jose, but does anybody find it a little bit un-nerving that things were said to White Sox player personnel after the season ended about signing and acquisitions and now a player is saying that they haven't heard a peep out of the Organization since that time? And it's not like there is a plethora of SS's available this offseason through signings. As for Kaz Matsui, Tejada, and the like, don't even consider them. Too rich for a businessman like JR. So who are we gonna go with if not Jose? Eckstein?
  23. He's young and in love. Don't try to ruin it with reality
