  1. According to a Marlins fan site, the White Sox will be visiting PPS the weekend of June 15th.
  2. Cause it was s*** and a little less than half was incentive-based. I would of told them to go pound too.
  3. Woo Hoo! Don't get your hopes up. Garland will dash them and be around .500 again.
  4. A guy in Chicago got onto one of the local newscasts last Friday during the high-rise fire. He claimed he was trapped on the 18th floor and when the newscaster asked him what he was thinking, he belted out..... "Howard Stern Rules!"
  5. Too bad. He was doing such a wonderful job
  6. I'm probably the biggest proponent of death. I'm pro-execution, pro-abortion, and pro-euthanasia. A hypocrite I am not. Hopefully, the State of Florida picks up the medical bills now for the family since the State is forcing them to keep this woman alive.
  7. I haven't. Probably pure speculation on Cub Lover's TV sports show SportsPage that this guy mistook for a report.
  8. What the hell kind of strip club was she atwhere she's allowed to dance with all of those clothes on ? I'd demand a refund.
  9. That's what I heard. GS said he "won't fire" Torre because Torre will resign at season's end for the NYY.
  10. If Wright is in the starting rotation for '04, this team is in serious trouble. I'm not even sold on him in the BP..... yet.
  11. Make Garland the #5 and acquire a number 3 or 4 and I guarantee we make the '04 playoffs. Only if JG is a number 5 though.
  12. I'm at the point of calling him a bust because I'm sick and tired of all the "give him time" and "this year is JG's breakout year" BS during ST only to see JG look like Cy Young in one outing and a T-Ball stand the next 3. One thing that Jon Garland IS is inconsistent. Age not withstanding, he's been in the bigs now for 3(?)..... 4(?)..... 5(?)..... seasons and has been, at the best, a game or two over .500 number 3 or 4 pitcher. He's a number 5 AT BEST.
  13. Only one .300 hitter is a real good point that I hadn't considered. But this Organization had two people that, IMHO, could have reliably closed..... Marte and Gordon. To go back to problem numero uno, it took JM a little over half-a-season to realize that Botch sucked and could not be relied upon.
  14. Garland's a bust dude. I would go so far as to say he doesn't belong in the same sentence with the words "Buehrle" and "pans out".
  15. The only Series that stands out in my mind was the '86 Mets/BoSox Series where NY pulled off the improbable with 2 outs and nobody on in extra-innings during the Buckner Error/Game 6 affair. That game is memorable on so many levels.
  16. I gotta go with the majority here and agree that the biggest problem was not firing JM in April, May, or..... at the very latest..... the All-Star Break. Let's not forget, this team not having a bonafide 5th starter THE ENTIRE SEASON didn't help matters either. I am a firm believer in that it was the moves that this Organization DIDN'T make that killed the team in '03.
  17. I counted at least 10 rows today. They are destroying the roof-overhang that was painted black last season underneath by poking it full of holes. There are two huge cranes in the west lots and a few workers were up by the lights on the first base side. The lights will be coming down for the renovations. It's just my opinion, but I don't think anything other than the upper deck renovations will be done before the start of next season. It has been almost a month and they are still removing upper deck seats as of today. Look for the grand entrance on 35th and Wentworth and the possible HR porch to be done during the '04-'05 offseason. That is just MHO though.
  18. One of the more sensical posts on Botch
  19. I am a big fan of KW last season. And this season I think I will stick by him because he made me a fan of his. Live by the sword, die by the sword
  20. Bartolo being around .500 after a terrible start is hardly what I'd call a "well" deal..... especially from a 20-game winner the season prior.
  21. Do you realize that KW can only complete deals that JR ok's? And there's no reason NOT to believe that the Colon deal was more Cashman, Minaya, and MLB than KW.
