  1. Shields should be on a very short leash to begin the 7th
  2. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:19 PM) Shutting out the Cubs would definitely help Shields value. Shutting out the Cubs would guarantee that KW will be buying at the deadline not selling.
  3. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) I think it's no replay after replay but he shoulda still argued it a little bit. I've seen a few times where a manager challenged something after the opposing manager challenged something
  4. Why is f***ing RV not challenging the play at second. Russell clearly never touched the base
  5. A lot of pitches for Shields, but he got out of the inning without giving up a run.
  6. Sucks we didn't add on there but 1 run and 30 pitches for Hendricks is a great start.
  7. Blue Jays agree to trade for Melvin Upton Jr. I believe it was for a Single A prospect.
  8. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) And then for the Sox, nothing happens. That's the one thing I fear will happen. The Sox will be in talks right up to the deadline and for a second straight year do nothing.
  9. Wtf has fulmer not pitched at all..makes no sense at all!!!!
  10. Robertson takes care of business after that horrible play by Shuck.
  11. QUOTE (Green Line @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:07 AM) To the guys saying he was justified because "the jerseys were uncomfortable" Give me a freaking break! This dude is getting paid MILLIONS of dollars to pitch every 5 days. I would go out there and pitch in my birthday suit if they were giving me that much money. He is a child who must have never been told no growing up. Absolutely no sympathy. I never said he was justified, I said I applaud him for trying to show the brain dead team that you are here to win and if the jerseys are preventing that then it's up the the front office to do something about it. The front office decided to nothing (cause they wantedtheir PR and money) which showed sale what there mindset is and he went off. The front office botched this one and sale really botched it.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:50 PM) If he is truly that mentally weak, he has bigger issues. Of course, with his reported behavior in multiple cases, I guess it's proven he does. So if Sale can't get the extension he wants in his arm when he pitches bc of the jersey, somehow he is mentally weak....
  13. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:18 PM) You seriously believe that wearing a different uniform makes a difference in winning? This is the difference in winning? Wearing a different jersey? I'm sure KW didn't care about the promotional day other than "ok Brooks." Sale said they were VERY uncomfortable, let's see someone go out there and pitch in a suit and tie. If they strike out 9 batters or so against Detroit then I'm wrong, if they get blasted (which they will) then there might be something to it. Didnt the sox already alter the uniforms bc they were the ones that had shorts instead of pants.
  14. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) Not on days where promotional jerseys are worn and scheduled before the season started. You don't have to wear them, just give them away. Winning comes first, otherwise this s*** will continue for years and it obviously will until KW is thrown out on his ass
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) Oh gosh...explain I can explain. If new info comes out or something I'm using for my assumption is wrong then obviously my stance will change but for now this where I stand. So what I've been seeing is that each staring pitcher for the sox gets to choose what jerseys are worn the day they pitch. Sale told them the '76 jerseys are very uncomfortable and to not wear them when he pitches (exactly the way it's been done to my knowledge). The Sox then basically said to sale (not in these words but the jist of it is there) we don't care that's it's your choice, we don't care that your uncomfortable, we don't care that you may pitch bad, we really don't care if we lose. Sale then decided to cut the jerseys up bc he was sick and tired of the sox front office constantly wanting to put PR and jersey sales above winning baseball games. Now I'm not saying cutting up the jerseys was the best decision or even an ok decision but I'd give Sale a standing ovation for trying to change the f***ing awful culture that exists within the Sox organization that mostly starts in the front office. The goal is to win baseball games and make the playoffs. If nobody does anything this laid back attitude in the front office is never gonna change. Thank you Sale for trying to change the losing culture that exists in the Sox organization, maybe do it in a little different way next time though.
  16. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:55 PM) Me neither. They must have the main players agreed on in principle and are deciding which guys they want thrown in. I don't buy the clubhouse incident either.
  17. Sale sent home after a non physical clubhouse incident
  18. Whitesox Dave and Rabbit tweeted that a sale was scratched due to the flu. Not sure I buy that.
  19. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 06:52 PM) I'm not sure who I would want to move. Sale has less control left, but is a better pitcher than Q. Move Q, Sale gave the Sox a massive discount cause he wants to play here. Sale probably would do the same when he becomes a free agent.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 06:30 PM) Serious question: What would be the point of trading Quintana for Urias? Best case scenario, Urias turns into a pitcher as good as Quintana. Quintana, who already is a pitcher as good as Quintana, is signed reasonably for four more years. Urias, a rookie, has six years' control. So basically you can have Quintana for four more years, or a guy who might be as good as Quintana for six years. Is that two years of upside, mitigated by the bust risk, really worth it? Four years is a long time! With the condition that the Sox will be attempting to compete in 2018 or 2019 (which I think they will, even in a rebuild they're not going to punt more than a season or two), I just don't see the point in trading Q for a pitcher at all. If the Sox trade him, it should be for multiple impact bats. BC Urias can be as good as Sale and is 19
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) Well barstool wsox seems to know the players/teams involved, and he mentioned something about how he'd need a top 5 prospect coming back. Only one close to that on the Dodgers is Urias. De Leon is ups there as well.
  22. WOW!!!! Timmy with a spectacular play from deep in the hole on a jump turn.
  23. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) You must be a glutton for punishment. I must be
