Just playing, my friend. That blood sausage quote is from one of my favorite movies Groundhog Day and I enjoy throwing it out occasionally. In all honesty, singing the jingle might have been amusing at some point but after a few years it is like a Saturday Night Live skit where they just don't know when to quit. And I do mute the thing every time the remote is close enough. But as long suffering Sox fans, we all know there are worse problems with this team. And for anyone here offended by my disdain for the jingle.....

I was at that game and it was unbelievable. I actually like to remember it as the Joe Crede clutch double game. Later in the year, we were hosting Christmas at our house and we were preparing for that...my wife came down to the basement where I was "cleaning" and I had the rebroadcast of that game on in the background and she said "Why are you watching that...that was the only playoff game you were actually at??!!"...."Yeah, but I didn't see it on TV."

Oh I agree with you. I do not think he deserved a shot. I was just saying that when the team somewhat turned it around last season, it was his job to lose and then the team went ahead and lost it for him. A change was obviously necessary.

Could not agree with you more. The team's awful stretch at the end of the season absolutely cost Cairo the managerial job.

I am excited to see what this new approach, in combination with the new rules about the shift, is going to do to our offensive output.

Honestly, I love baseball but when the playoffs come around and the White Sox are not involved, I really don't care. This team is in my blood and I don't think that will change. I know Reinsdorf owns them but they are MY team and for other diehards, OUR team.
