It's also a bit of a crock of crap....their destiny has been in their hands for months. Easy part of the schedule...they play .500 just like the rest of the season. I'm not excusing LaRussa but for crying out loud there are enough veterans on this team that they should have realized long ago that this team had no fight.

An example of what I consider situational hitting is this....I've been watching baseball and White Sox baseball for a long time, and I cannot remember any team that is so bad with the bases loaded. It is very odd. I agree defense has been bad as well....unfortunately this team does not play good baseball and their talent level has fallen off to a point that playing bad baseball really matters. Finally, the lack of hustle at times is something that most White Sox fans, me included, just cannot stand.

So we agree that the offense and offensive approach are the main reasons this team dug a hole that this late season surge most likely won't save them from.

I'll go with this order....Situational Hitting, LaRussa, Situational Hitting, Injuries, Situational Hitting, the Nationwide Jingle Curse, Situational Hitting and Joe Kelly.

Might've helped if this team's situational hitting wasn't abysmal for most of the year.

Pretty obvious that they have to sweep the 4 games left with Cleveland....maybe 3 out of 4 gives them a shot but it'd be a slim one.

Yep, but IF they do sweep those 4 from the Guardians that'd be something special. Unfortunately they've put themselves in the position of having to do things like that.

The 1 game playoff is no more. Unless the Sox sweep the 4 remaining games with the Guardians, Cleveland will own the tie breaker.
