ALDS Game 4 - HOU @ CWS - 1:07 pm CDT
wegner replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2021 Season in Review
I do think it's bad when people cannot enjoy the game because how others are acting and am sorry that happened with your son there. However, I am going to differ with you in one aspect. The players on the Astros truly did cheat and nothing was done to them at all by MLB....I do not feel one ounce of sorrow or regret for them because they have to hear about it and if they have to hear about it from the stands for the rest of their careers I really don't care because they will not hear it from reporters who basically kiss their butts when interviewing them. Maybe it was stupid what Tepera said but I think he is speaking for the frustration of a bunch of major leaguers who are pissed that they broke the rules and got away with it 100%. -

You should just stick around here where things are a lot more level headed. -

I was afraid you'd say that. -

Rick Hahn 2021 End of Season Press Conference
wegner replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If Rick Hahn was to move on, what is the most likely scenario: A) Kenny moves back in to the job B) LaRussa moves up to the job C) Next Man up in the organization...Getz? D) Bring in Someone from outside the organization. -
Rick Hahn 2021 End of Season Press Conference
wegner replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So what you are saying is that hopefully Rick Hahn starts the press conference by saying he is committed to staying with the ball club and taking them to the next level....which is what every mid major college basketball coach says right before taking their next job. -

Ok, so I had to run an errand this morning and the last radio station I had on in the car was listening to Len and DJ on AM 1000, ESPN...the radio home of the Chicago White Sox. I had to turn to FM radio quickly as the Carmen and Jurko show was dominated by Jurkovic gloating about the Sox getting crushed. How about toning it down a bit on what is supposed the be the home of the White Sox Jurko?? God I hate Chicago sports radio. -

It's truly a crime that this organization let Pants Rowland go. -
All I am saying is if there is a market for Kimbrel, why the hell wouldn't there be a market for Hendriks who at this time is much better. To be clear, I am not suggesting they should do it...just wondering if that is an option the front office would consider.
-
Is it time to debate the merits of accepting Kimbrel's option and putting the more valuable piece, Hendriks, on the market?
-
I'm fine with him being the fall guy.
-
From what many of us felt was the strength of this team no so long ago. Very frustrating.
-
WTF was that all about anyway. Shouldn't someone's head roll in the offseason over that awful positioning all series long?
-
I wonder what he'll say about Kimbrel when he's gone...via trade or decline of the option.
-
Sure it is...look at the last couple of pages.
-
Ok, so a few more weeks of speculation before we know. Thanks, Balta.
-
What is the timeline as far as accepting/rejecting options and when free agency starts?
-
I can see the argument of keeping him and flipping him but with what he has done and his salary, isn't he more of a I'll take him off your hands kind of deal instead of one that will net you much of a return? Would it be a bad contract for bad contract kind of a deal? If they do accept the offer, I sure hope some here are correct that teams will look past a bad couple of months but I don't see how the Sox don't have to eat some of that $$.
-
Watch it now, you might make me excited about the free agent season.
-
Just go to the ballpark on your ticket date and feel the serenity of the moment....do some yoga....it would do so much more for your soul than any refund you might get.
-
But he's got that experience that is invaluable, Ray.
-
Considering that he was brought in for his veteran playoff experience...that sucks. But I agree with you that is most likely what we get...more of this year's performance.
