I tried to look up what day today is and all I found was......Wednesday of the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Time Did I miss a holiday that I should have taken off for? Oops, sorry I found it.....St Venable's day, the newly announced patron saint of hopeless causes.

Normally big news like this would keep me up reading the comments. Unfortunately, they've trained me to not care very much. I'll check in tomorrow for the general consensus.

As it turns out, 2020 was the window of contention. And as you said, Hahn did nothing to fix the pitching issue. Who knows how far they would have gone with some more pitching and if they could have gotten past the A's. It also was a problem that our MVP failed multiple times in that playoff series to drive runs in....that's right I said it.

How the Sox went from 12th in fWAR/talent to last
wegner replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was not sure where to post this but since this thread is about on field talent, here we go.... I was at the Night of 1,000 Jack O Lanterns event at the Chicago Botanic Gardens the other evening and one of the themes for the carved pumpkins was "Chicago Sports Rookies".....I quickly wondered if the Sox would be represented but low and behold, right after Angel Reese, was Jonathan Cannon. Congratulations, Jonathan. -
Jerry Reinsdorf open to selling the White Sox per Britt Ghiroli
wegner replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I realize that I only have the personal experience of living in Chicago most of my life and I guess whoever put those statistics together are professionals, but those numbers look like bullahit to me -

Ozzie's insistence of playing a non CF out there a good chunk of the season didn't help either. -

Alot of people forget about Hermonson but he was very good out of the pen as well that campaign....I had forgotten that he came back late in the year when I watched a season recap recently. -

Not trying to be political, but I think your demographic breakdown for any group of people in Chicago are not accurate. Democrats have run Chicago for decades.
