I wouldn't call the last 2 games uninteresting...the first being a frustrating pitcher's dual and yesterday was electric. But Yes I am very happy that our true leader is back in Anderson.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER CARLOS RODON NO HITTER EDITION!!!!!

I seem to remember a game when I was younger where Jerry Hairston broke up a no hitter late and some people at Sox park booed him. I remember being upset that they would boo a Sox player for getting a hit. If you want a no hitter, then get Jerry Hairston out dammit. Just like Carlos got Luplow out for a 4th time tonight. -
I heard preseason that the Sox were bringing in a new coach to work with the catchers. Kudos to him.

He's looking more and more comfortable at the plate as well. Making much more contact. I think we will see some nice power numbers from Collins as the weather warms up.

Thrilled to have Timmy back. I must say though that Leury was throwing some leather out there tonight. Great defense all around. -

We have the best backup catchers in baseball....one hits over .500 with power and the other catches nonos -
Ludlow is a damn tough out and Carlos got him 4 times...but that last ball was tagged.

Ok who had Rodon with a 0.00 ERA and Mercedes over .500 in the beginning of the season pool? -

Sometimes you just get lucky enough to catch every pitch in a special ball game. On a lazy Saturday afternoon, I decided to watch Philip Humber pitch. And tonight, Carlos Rodon was magical. I am so happy for him that he held on for the no no after losing the perfect game -
Play him every day Hall of Famer

As Ozzie said anybody, and I mean anybody is better in LF than Hi Mom.

Nice shutdown inning by Carlos after our 6 spot. Love to see that.
-
I'll take a half dozen in the first inning please...thank you.

Hey Hey Hey Gooooodbye!!! I love to hear that song.

Random thoughts... I remember I was happy when they got rid of LaRussa the first time around. I talked myself into this being an ok hire because he seemed to put together a nice staff around him. I saw part of the post game news conference last night (I actually had the sound off). LaRussa just looked tired and it is very early in the season. Pretty much everybody here agrees that there were a bunch of boneheaded Managerial decisions last season and especially in the last week of the season and the playoffs....I do not see how that has changed. Keep Crochet out of the 10th...he seems to need to work with a fresh inning where noone is on base. I wonder if he ever has worked as anything other than a Starter?
-
No reason for Liam to not come out for the 10th. Call up Adolfo...call up Rutherford...I don't care who....that performance by Williams is dfa-able.

Did we ever consider that this tarot card reader looks like the young Jane Seymour in Live and Let Die?

I saw one of those articles and thought it was interesting and then read that she has become so important that his family has celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas with her and I found that a bit odd. But as was said earlier, whatever he needs to do he needs to do. It's not my $$.
-
That is a very interesting comparison. Thanks for putting that out there.
-
That's a very fair point, Quin. That was just the glaring example in my head. I really have to get over Ozzie playing the wrong guy 15 years ago. Sorry about that.
-
I know little about Nick Williams actually but he has looked fine defensively out there while Vaughn is still learning. I am not arguing for Williams...all I am saying is that you do take a risk sacrificing defense for potential offensive output....see 2006 CF.
-
I am trying to remember what game it was that a ball landed close to the line in LF and the announcers clearly said a seasoned LF would have had it when Vaughn could not get to it. Was that part of that awful inning in Seattle or a different game?
