On This Day...
Haha, I remember watching that live on TV. It was hilarious. I did not remember the $ being waved at him by the ladies in the crowd. Thanks for posting this, Lip.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
I think the most unrealistic of any of those is that the White Sox would send cash to anyone.

The rumors were (partially) true: Collins to AAA

Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
Well this has been a disappointing beginning to the 2nd half...I just got to see the 9th inning...was Yolmer swinging for the fences again in a key spot in the 8th?

Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
I'd like to put in a vote for Alen Hanson...the Sox gave him most of a season and I don't remember him doing anything

Yep, I used to lurk over at whitesoxinteractive but I could never bring myself to post on a site where sarcasm had to be put in teal...if someone doesn't get it, I just smile and move on ?

I joined 8/5/15 but never posted until last summer's whale hunt. Before that I just came here for Sox Fan'takes on the news.

Thanks Poppy. I'm just excited to have such a vast network of Palehose fans to read and post with. Go Sox!!!

That's funny because I feel the same way about the guy in the Mexican League that Jack Parkman thought of Giolito last year. Get on the horn Rick...maybe we can trade Castillo and Jay for him.

Sorry if this is not the right place to post this, but the last time I noticed I was in AA and now I am on the 40 man roster!! I might never go to O'Hare again in fear that someone from Soxtalk will inform me I've been sent down again. On second thought, I could still be in AA but on the 40 man...that's OK I'm still quite excited for the opportunity.

The rumors were (partially) true: Collins to AAA
I am not taking any sides here but just for kicks I decided to look up the #10 pick for the 10 years prior to Collins. 2015 Cornelius Randolph...OF in AA 2014 Michael Conforto...OF for the Mets 2013 Phil Bickford...P in A+ ball 2012 David Dahl...OF for the Rockies 2011 Corey Spangenberg...2B recently DFA by Brewers organization 2010 Michael Choice...P in the Mexican League 2009 Drew Storen...P who is currently a free agent 2008 Jason Castro...C for the Twins 2007 Madison Bumgarner...P for the Giants 2006 Tim Lincecum...P currently listed as a free agent

If I was at O'Hare and someone told me I was being sent to Charlotte, I would be pissed too!!!

Moncada
Very fair point. Thanks Eloy. My main point about the whole already set for life argument is that some people who are already set for life might rather sign a nice extension with a team they are already comfortable with rather than go through the process of free agency. Living up to a big contract can be easier in a city that already loves you rather than a new city like say....Philadelphia. Just my opinion.

Moncada
As far as trying to offer Moncada a long term contract...I know the argument is that he already got big money when he signed with the other Sox. However, might he not be interested in being further set for life with a team that he is very comfortable with and has a nice future with a young core? I don't think that every player yearns for free agency. As it was said by someone on another thread, if Mike Trout can be extended, anyone can.

I hope Zack took this time to start to learn what preparation/work it takes to be a big league catcher from McCann. He also looked much better behind the plate than I thought he would from all I had read. I'm also not ready to write him off offensively. No reason to judge him too harshly with how he was being used.

Any idea that this team is looking for any kind of salary relief is a joke.

That is more like the kind of loss I remember in Oakland except at least I didn't stay up until 1:00 am to see them lose it in the 9th

However this one ends today, let's hope this is the beginning of a nice 2nd half for Lopez. If we can pencil him into the starting rotation looking the way he did today, that would be a wonderful thing for the rebuild.

I'd add the entire Twins team this year to that list
