Fangraphs did a whole thing on this years ago. Your chances of scoring with a runner on 1st with no outs and bunting is LESS than if you swing away (and that includes NL pitchers). Bunting is 98.9% stupid. It's never good to give up an out (which is to say: a chance to score) Exceptions: Suicide bunt to win a game Infield playing a shift (think: Jim Thome bunting around 3rd base) Other than that: why would you give up chances to score?

Ynoa looks like he put on like 15lbs since I last saw him.

Great game tonight - especially standing up for Q and fighting hard. He was defintely down but good to see the team back him up and keep winning.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but this exactly why I hate the Shields trade. Bench is razor thin - we have nothing to call up. OFers like Coats, and Shuck...Avi. What has this 5-9 hit in the last month? I'd be shocked if it's even .190. They eat $15M to toss Danks, only to toss another $3M on Latos, take on $5M this year for Shields (and another 2/years $22M)....That's $23M THIS YEAR over a #5 that could get something able to hit weight in at least 5 spot for EVERY DAY. Pathetic.
