  1. Close call with that curve on Anderson. Good thing about that inning was...all of the offense came with 2 out. Let's pray they can continue this vs. Houston.
  2. Lots of hitters have had success against Nolasco...Eaton is 6 for 18 against him, Abreu is 4 for 11, Lawrie is 5 for 10, even Avi is 3 for 7. Shuck has 2 hits in 3 atbats against him, and Saladino is 1 for 2 if that means anything. Anyone know what is going on with Melky and his wrist? Is he healthy enough to play? He also has had a lot of success against Nolasco going 8 for 19 against him. Hoping for an offensive breakout tonight.
  3. Is this the real White Sox team? I never wanted to believe it, but I think what we see tonight is ultimately what we get. How do you lose 4-0 to the worst team in baseball, against a starter who is 0-5 with an ERA over 6? How is one of your best hitters hitting under.200? I had so much faith in this team, but after tonight, that faith really is gone. I am so tired of seeing someone get on base and the next two or three hitters doing nothing to get the guy in. So awful.
  4. This game should be a blowout with that pitching matchup...or at least something like 6-2 victory with Q on the mound and the way the Sox have been hitting of late...although there will be considerably cooler temps today.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) When you have an offense that's struggling, you shouldn't be giving up outs and playing for 1 run all the time. It's one thing to do it when you only need 1 run to win in extras or in the 9th, but the Sox have had their #3 hitter bunt before in the 7th inning. If you don't let your best hitter swing the bat, then what's the point? David Ortiz, the Red Sox number 3 hitter and possibly the best hitter in the league, bunted yesterday with TWO out and no one on (granted there was the shift), and nearly beat it out, and it was the first inning. The best offense in the league had their best hitter bunt. The White Sox are not the only team to have their 3 hitter bunt to try to spark something.
  6. With this offense, I would rather see a runner on 1st get bunted over and have one out rather than the hitter ground into a dp, which is likely what would happen. I like the bunt because it forces the defense to make the play, and oftentimes you see mistakes when trying to field a bunt. I would say most people on here don't mind the bunting, its just the ones that don't like it are the ones that are vocal about it.
  7. NOW THAT IS HOW YOU WIN A DAMN BASEBALL GAME. Guys bailing each other out and situational hits (at least toward the end)...let's continue this play.
  8. As bad as this team has been, they have never shown that they have given up. Now, time to close the door. Lets goooo Sox!!!!!
  9. The way this is going Gonzalez is going to throw a complete game shutout.
  10. Abreu starting to hit better. Hey the Sox have a hit in each inning so far...
  11. Worst part of the park to hit that. Damn that would have been his first homer if it were in Chicago
  12. Now that at-bat is exemplary of a good hitting team. Long at-bats, fouling off tough pitches...
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) Gonzalez is 140th out of 140 total in BAA in balls put in play. .388. That's really quite hard to do. How is Shields not number 140?
  14. Well this is a pleasant change. Can we get a 3 run homer while we're at it?
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) Won't watch a game until Ventura is gone. Bet you will
  16. Oh my word...they may actually get out of this without giving up a run. How often does that happen?
