  1. Todd Frazier 3 run homer baby! Nice to see it come on an 0-2 count with 2 outs and 2 men on. Low breaking ball I believe. Maybe hung it.
  2. Going to the game next Saturday when Sale (hopefully) pitches his 2nd start against Cleveland. Wanted to go to opening day, but it's probably Danks or Latos pitching and I don't feel like sitting in the nosebleeds when it's in the 40s when I could get tickets for almost the same price on the lower level the next day with Sale pitching lol.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 26, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) Benetti certainly brings out the weird in Steve Stone Yeah...Stone just asked Benetti if he could chew on his arm because Benetti didn't think to ask him if he wanted any of his meatball sandwich...
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 07:55 AM) My prediction for the opening day roster is the same as it is in the other Opening Day Roster Prediction Thread. My bad didn't see it
  5. Here's my prediction for the opening day roster: 2016 Chicago White Sox Starting Lineup (vs. RHP) 1) Adam Eaton (RF) (L) 2) Jimmy Rollins (SS) (S) 3) Jose Abreu (1B) ® 4) Todd Frazier (3B) ® 5) Melky Cabrera (LF) (S) 6) Avisail Garcia (DH) ® 7) Brett Lawrie (2B) ® 8) Austin Jackson (CF) ® 9) Alex Avila © (L) 2016 Chicago White Sox Bench 1) Dioner Navarro © (S) 2) Tyler Saladino (IF) ® 3) Carlos Sanchez (IF) (S) 4) J.B. Shuck (OF) (L) 2016 Chicago White Sox Starting Rotation 1) Chris Sale (L) 2) Jose Quintana (L) 3) Carlos Rodon (L) 4) Matt Latos ® 5) John Danks (L) 2016 Chicago White Sox Bullpen 1) Erik Johnson ® (LRP) 2) Zach Duke (L) (MRP/SU) 3) Matt Albers ® (MRP/SU) 4) Jake Petricka ® (MRP/SU) 5) Nate Jones ® (MRP/SU) 6) Zach Putnam ® (MRP/SU) 7) David Robertson ® (CL) What do you guys think? I think this is a realistic roster prediction. I might take out Erik Johnson and throw in Dan Jennings for an extra lefty arm, but then there is no true long reliever. Maybe swap out Carlos Sanchez? Not sure, but I think him and Shuck are shoe-ins for the last two bench spots. I also think we will see Saladino start at SS more with lefties. I like the combo of Eaton and Rollins up top as table setters. I see a lot of bunting and hit and runs going on with those two.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Video http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/video/v54415...es-at-white-sox Thanks
  7. Woah...scary double play there
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 04:12 PM) Sands just drilled a HR off Manaea. Davidson follows with a single. Any chance Sands makes the roster? Seems like Sands has the better bat in my opinion, but Ishikawa has the left-handed advantage.
  9. Like the Saladino bunt. Let's hope this smart baseball continues into the season.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 05:12 PM) If Drake was still with the team, he wouldn't have fallen. Please, don't bring it up. We need it to go away, not linger.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) Good to see Sale facing batters in a real game. Now let the speculation run wild. If he does good I bet we hear how he must have been channeling his anger in showing KW up and if he is bad we will hear that he is disgruntled. I think Laroche should be complemented in his stance on all of this, but I am not sure outright retiring was the thing I would do, but it was his decision and it is done. I doubt anything that transpires now will make a difference in his decision, but who knows. One thing for certain we need to be moving on and winning ball games. I second that, moving on and winning ball games. Lets forget about this mess...the quicker the better. Winning will help that.
  12. I see Thompson is only hitting .217 this spring...hmmm...
  13. I think LaRoche handled this pretty childishly honestly. Even if there was a "verbal" agreement, people change their minds. It's a fact of life What's the lesson for his son? You should quit your job whenever your boss says something that you disagree with?
  14. QUOTE (Scoots @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) Some positive things to note: Danks hasn't given up any runs yet. Just saw Ishikawa's average, and he just ripped a changeup for a nice double. He's a left-handed hitting first baseman. Could he be LaRoche's replacement? Side note: Benetti called a ball foul that was a good 10-15 feet fair...that was pretty funny.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) It's about 50-50 people getting it right on MLB network. Plesac interviewed him at nc state, and he still gets it wrong every time. Yeah I noticed that too...I think it might be because there are other players in the league with a similar last name with the long 'O' sound, such as the Cubs closer Rondon.
  16. Is it annoying anyone else that the Brewer's announcers are calling Carlos Rodon's last name "Rodone" with the long 'O' sound.
  17. Please, can John Danks just pitch against the Royals this year? He gives up too many runs, and he is waaaay too predictable...not deceptive at all. I cringe every time he throws a pitch.
  18. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) 4 more homeruns today now up to 20 sofar Yeah it's crazy how the ball is jumping off their bats. We shall see if the ball has that same carry in the cold April of Chicago, however if the weather stays like it has been, they won't have to deal with the cold.
  19. Some positive things coming from the Sox so far. Here are their Spring Stats according to MLB.com as of the games on March 10th. OFFENSE: AVG: .291 (8th MLB/4th AL) HR: 16 (2nd MLB/ 2nd AL) Doubles: 23 (T5th MLB/3rd AL) Runs: 53 (11th MLB/ 5th AL) SLG: .542 (1st MLB) OPS: .878 (4th MLB/3rd AL) Obviously they have done well hitting, but their pitching is currently 26th (according to ERA) and their defense is actually pretty good with a .983 fielding pct, which is good for 9th MLB/ 5th AL. I think the pitching stats aren't a big area of concern because a lot of the runs scored against, at least from what I have seen, have come against pitchers that won't be on the major league roster come April, and our starters have been fairing decently. I am psyched about this offense (especially Avi), as even Rollins is showing some pop. Thoughts guys?
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Would be watching but MLBTV is s*** Yeah mine isn't even coming in HD and I have a MacBook Pro...
  21. Man...Navarro has let 3 straight pitches get away from him...2 were in the dirt and one a fastball that popped right out of his glove. Hope he can iron that out before the season starts.
