  1. Robbie has had one good season and a lot of bad to meh. That one good season was also only 60 games. He is not a clear upgrade over Eaton.
  2. Olney is saying teams were told to proceed without the DH in the NL, but the teams believe there will be a DH after they player's union meets with MLB.
  3. Great story. It is amazing how we look out for the wives and kids. I grew up in projects/public housing and spoil my kids and to a lesser degree, wife. (Except for the ebay story lol) I now have three refrigerators full of food and a den full of the toys I never had as a kid, like that amazing big wheel car. Wait, I may be spoiling myself, I am selfish. ?
  4. DHs were not signing until positive news broke. I still think we can get a good one and would love to see Nelson Cruz bounce.
  5. They should be aiming higher. But if they sign a few more key guys then I am okay with it.
  6. The bolded guys are a no go for various reasons. Either they are always hurt, unplayable in the field, haven't produced long enough, or are in a sharp decline. Those guys may be on par with Eaton, but none of them are clear upgrades. Brantley and Ozuna are, but those two may be DH's at this point.
  7. It was stated on MLB Network that 6 other teams were interested in Eaton. If you take away 2020, which we also are doing for Joc and a few others, Eaton is a very solid signing. He puts bat on the ball against righties and has decent pop for an 8 hitter. I don't know what happened with his defense, but hopefully it can get figured out as well. Eaton was definitely not my first choice, but it's not the end of the world as an 8 hitter and the cost.
  8. What is odd to me is that the angry fans seem to say or want Hahn to quit because of this. Where is he gonna go? He has built something special here and will want to bask in the glory of it after 7 years of failure. He isn't gonna leave here and go somewhere just to start over and risk being a failure again.
  9. The Sox saved during the rebuild and at this point have an average payroll. I wouldn't be shocked if JR was happy he had an excuse to not spend big (not saying he wants the pandemic to be the result just an excuse)
  10. Yep looks like Hendriks and then a #5. I think we are selling ourselves short if we don't sign a real left handed DH for the year.
  11. Thank you. If we aren't signing elite position players or starters, then get yourself an elite bullpen going.
  12. Bauer, Springer, Brantley, Hendriks, and trade for Lynn would have happened at a minimum.
  13. I support the trade for both teams but I take that scenario 100 percent. We could replace Lynn with another good pitcher and hope that Kopech and Cease reach their potential. The championship is here forever and would signal we have at least another 4 or 5 years of hope for another.
  14. Dadgummit where is the hot news for us? Wake up Hahn and Kenny, wake up.
  15. Oh no. This goes against the narrative. What will we complain about now?
  16. No news in half a day. Do something!!!
  17. Where at? I can't get it cheaper than 6 bucks. The RC is an extra 79 cent per can.
  18. Will be up for sure tonight for anything.
  19. We haven't had luck trading for veteran pitchers in years. Hell, we haven't had too much luck with Free Agency period over the years.
  20. No proof that he will decline, anyone could. If we aren't spending the big bucks we might as well bring in elite bullpen arms. Not to mention, he won't be rode into the ground here.
  21. Lynn, Eaton, Dk gone by then. So is more fat that won't be here to stay. There are no excuses to not expand payroll significantly.
  22. Hendriks is a beast so I wouldn't mind. Shoring up the bullpen and back end rotation should be a priority if we aren't signing elite FAs.
