The Sox made it clear they signed Eaton because of his talent and his attitude. Eaton has talent if he is healthy and putting it together. His attitude that he brings to the table was important to them. It is a big gamble for sure, but it was their plan.

I think what he meant was in a normal 162 game season the Rays, Twins, and Astros would have probably won their divisions. The Yankees/Indians/A's/Sox would have fought for wild cards with the Sox probably being the odd team out. This of course is no certainty, but it could have been the case.
