There is no reason to trade for Snell if Kopech or Vaughn are involved. There are other opportunities to shore up the pitching without giving our top guys away and still having to pay big dollar.

True, they might win it, but Cleveland might win it too. Our odds of winning the AL are probably less than 20 percent right now. As it stands we are behind the Rays and Yankees for sure. But if the goal is championships, you also have to include the Dodgers, Padres,and Braves. In which case, those teams are more equipped to beat us as it stands now.

The difference is teams instead of team. I think these teams may have been feed bad info to keep the Sox in stealth mode. I believe they will spend 100m if they truly want Springer or Bauer. They have the money and limited needs.

This can all be avoided if we sign Bauer. Gio, Bauer, DK, Kopech, and Cease/Dunning should be enough to win in post season from a pitching perspective. You could then bring in a serviceable RF like JBJ, Eaton, or Joc to be more than a doormat against RHP. Add a few bullpen pieces and we'd be ready to compete for a championship without trading core pieces.

This can't be true. TLR sucks period. Nothing he does is good and he will fail in every possible way. He doesn't even have the common decency to call players.

TLR is abrasive, but if Timmy and Abreu are okay with things then I'm good. TLR has a ton to prove and trust to earn, but so do a lot of coaches and players, including Bauer.

For sure the offseason can still be successful, but the disappointment will be from not getting the big fish again and the work that will need to be done to get a legit pitcher. If we don't sign Bauer or Springer we will have to trade for a pitcher, which I don't want to do. On top of that we will be signing Joc or JBJ, two huge downgrades from Springer. If we were to sign Springer, I'd feel a lot better about trading for a pitcher.

Yep. I'm not feeling to confident about Springer, but money typically wins. Just as long as we get one of Springer and Bauer and it's fine. If we get neither it will be a disappointment.
