  1. All I know is, no matter what I'm going to enjoy this season more than 2023. Zero expectations, no chance for dissapointment.
  2. Mini melts sounds like some knock-off Dippin Dots. If they got rid of dippin dots there is no reason to go to a game this year.
  3. Clevinger does not bring clubhouse drama Only soxtalk drama.
  4. This is a good post. We can always sneak into a wild card spot.
  5. A lot of people hate Jerry so much they'd rather see the Sox fail. They are going to complain regardless of what comes out.
  6. There's not a single potential owner that will keep the team in Chicago if they have to stay at Guaranteed Rate. Anybody is going to ask for public financing, which has been given to countless teams across the league over the past two decades. Just say you hate the Sox and want them gone.
  7. They’re not staying at Guaranteed Rate. Its the worst ballpark in the MLB. The fact that its not literally crumbling is the only argument I hear in its favor. Either this deal happens or he moves - either to somewhere like Naperville or a new metro area. I know as a Chicago-based Sox fan which of those three options I choose. The State of Illinois and Chicago will throw away whatever money is not spent on this project to their crony friends so I am not sure why anybody really cares. The plan as presented will further revitalize the South Loop and a new Red Line station is always welcome.
  8. He’s wont be around long enough to really enjoy any new stadium. The fans will get more out of this deal than him. you can’t take your money with you to the next life
  9. What is wrong with you all? The state giving us fans a beautiful new stadium is probably the best outcome we can hope for! I couldn't be happier with this proposed stadium. The renderings, the location, its all good. The state of Illinois has wasted so much money on things that are far, far more worthless than a beautiful new baseball cathedral. Don't all start acting like you're fiscal watchdogs.
  10. Yeah but my point is the team wasn't opening the rooftop even when it cooled down. It became an issue in the playoffs where the League had to force them to open it up, because otherwise they never would have. It was not 100 degrees by then. Somebody ran the numbers and they only played with the roof open a handful of times the entire summer despite the heat often being well below scorching. The exact circumstances won't be the same in Chicago but my point is retractable roofs are often closed too often when its unnecessary. I think thats bad for baseball.
  11. My problem with a retractable roof is that it'll end up being closed the vast majority of the time. The home team always prefers to play in a climate-controlled, perfectly comfortable environment. I read that this happened in Texas after they built their new stadium. The slightest deviation from perfect weather and they will keep it closed. Not good for the fans and people who enjoy outdoor baseball.
  12. And no jokes either. I prefer the angry silence of Hawk.
  13. If he’s going to go on and on about statistics and computers like Jason, hard pass. We don’t need that.
  14. It sounds like everyone wants this to happen - from the mayor to the aldermen from both the new and old locations. I am shocked Ald. Lee supports them moving out of Bridgeport but I think that just speaks to the realization that they are moving no matter what so keeping them in the city is preferable. If this all works out they should name it Reinsdorf Park!
  15. They wouldn’t. You’re not a real fan if you want them to move.
  16. Nobody will miss Benetti. Hopefully they bring Hawk back, or somebody of similar caliber.
  17. Its sad to think that if this was even a mediocre franchise we wouldn’t have to worry about them potentially relocating. The fan support would be there and the MLB would never allow it. But this is probably the worst franchise in professional sports, not even close to mediocrity.
  18. Our Chuck is right. TA has got to go.
  19. Sox should sign Bauer. He did nothing wrong as far as I can tell.
  20. They need to hire either Ron Washington or Jim Leyland this offseason. They will enforce discipline.
