  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 09:55 AM) It's obvious you're just finding any reason to post in here about how much you love the Cubs since you obviously know nothing about Vegas. I don't love the Cubs dude. I just realize a really good baseball team when I see one. I have posts on here talking about celebrating on South Halsted Street back in October of 05. I know how Vegas works too. The $ is obviously pouring in on the Cubs. Just rare to see a home underdog with their ace going.
  2. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 07:16 AM) I'm putting 2.5k on the indians tonight once the lines are released. Lines have been released and the tribe are home underdogs with Kluber on the bump. They still can't get any respect from Vegas. My $ (not2.5Kthough is on the Cubs. The bottom looks like it is starting to fall out for Cleveland.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) Indians lineup absolutely sucks once you get past Ramirez It certainly does and its starting to catch up with them. You can't run 3 nearly automatic outs at the end of your lineup and expect to have a chance against a team as good as the Cubs.
  4. The Tribe are in big big trouble. They had the Cubs bloodied and battered, but didn't get the KO. Now they look scared and ready for this series to be over.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) Why are people paying hundreds of dollars to get into a bar? Wouldn't it be much better to throw a party at home with family and friends? I think most of the people paying hundreds of dollars to get into a bar are some combination of A) single, B) in their 20's, C) from the burbs or out of state. I watched most of the Sox run in 05 at family or friends houses and I was only two years out of undergrad. Being at a bar with a bunch of strangers was too distracting. Every pitch is so important in the WS.
  6. QUOTE (Boogua @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) Apparently Tomlin has been throwing more curveballs recently too (over 40% against the Jays) and the Cubs aren't very good against them. With that said, I'm still seriously considering taking Cubs - 2.5 +180 I dropped a little coin on the Cubs -1.5 tonight and for them to win the Series in 5. It really feels like the Tribe are bringing a knife to a gunfight. I don't see them winning a single game at Wrigley.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 08:37 PM) My goodness folks...it's not a surprising outcome today...let's see what happens over the weekend. The weekend is looking very predictable just like tonight was. Tomlin gets rocked and Hendricks deals on Friday. Cubs see Kluber for a second time on Saturday and get to him just like they did with Kershaw. Bauer again on Sunday with short rest is a recipe for disaster. The tribe do not have enough pitching depth to win this series.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 08:10 PM) Tomlin has no prayer Friday if wind is howling out at 20 mph Yep. The tribe are in big trouble. Cubs got the job done in Cleveland with a split. Hendricks against Tomlin at Wrigley is a huge mismatch.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) And then looked dead again last night. No one is disputing the Cubs talent here, but it seems like a number of folks have themselves so wrapped up in their hype that they refuse to approach them rationally. Yes, the Indians' rotation has been decimated by injuries. Yes, Josh Tomlin and Trevor Bauer did not have the seasons that Jake Arrieta and Kyle Hendricks had. However, this is not new. This is has been the same commentary for two other playoff series now. Meanwhile, the Indians are 8-1 in the Postseason. Tomlin had a brutal August but has been very solid since. Bauer is very inconsistent, but when he is on, he might have the nastiest stuff of any starting pitcher on either team. Yes, on paper, the Cubs appear to have a large edge in the starting pitching department. But at some point, wake up and look at what the Indians have done. I'm wide awake and know the Tribe are a good baseball team. They've been kicking the Sox rear ends ( and most of the AL central) the last couple years. I just think the Cubs are the more talented team and are next to impossible to beat in a 7 game series. Their bats are gonna wake up tonight against Bauer. Hendricks at Wrigley in game 3 is almost a guaranteed victory as well. The Cubs got to Kershaw the second time around at Wrigley and I think they will do the same to Kluber. I hope I'm wrong, but I see the Cubs rattling off 3 straight Ws starting tonight.
  10. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) But isn't this the same thing Red Sox and Blue Jays fans were thinking in prior rounds? I would argue that the Cubs are a totally different animal from Toronto and Boston. The Cubs looked dead in the water after Game 3 against LA and came roaring back.
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) I just know he is going to hit a home run or have a big hit Yep. Everything is lining up perfectly for this to happen. My prediction is a mammoth pitch hit blast off Allen at Wrigley in game 3 or 4.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) Amen. I can't take a 7 game series. I am over it. There is no way that this Series is going 7 games. The Tribe does not have the starting pitching to hang with this Cubs team. Everything is going the Cubs way this year and that will continue with a series clinching victory at Wrigley in game 4 or 5.
  13. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 06:27 PM) Has this been talked about? Since Theo took over in 2012, the Cubs record is 400-409 (without playoff record). This is obviously including the full rebuild they went through, including a 101 loss season, and a 96 loss season. They told fans this was a 5 year process, and things would be rough early on. During that same stretch, the Sox are 375-435, and have tried to "go for it" every year. Just some food for thought. Wow. This is depressing stuff. Further evidence that everyone involved with running this franchise deserves to be fired immediately.
  14. Cubs in 5. The tribe are going to have to play pretty much perfect baseball to beat the Cubs. I'm just glad that the Cubs lost 3 games this postseason. At least us Sox fans can say we had the more dominant World Series run.
  15. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:34 PM) Did you take the Indians to win the pennant? I did. I also took them to win the World Series back in August. Have texts to prove it, not that you would believe me anyway. Can't wait for Andrew Miller to make this Cubs lineup look like a bunch of little leaguers. It's going to be delightful. Lol. Andrew Miller is just one guy and this isn't basketball. The tribe have no chance.
  16. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) The Cubs are insanely good. They are. All the pieces are there for them to go on a Blackhawks type run over the next 5 years.
  17. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) You clearly haven't followed what Kluber has done this season. Kluber is good but he is nowhere near the level of Jon Lester right now. I would take Lester over Kluber in a postseason game every single day of the week.
  18. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) I'm not sure it is if Arrieta continues to pitch like second half Jake lol. Are you serious man? The Cubs starting four is lights years better than the Indians starting four. The Cubs have 3 legitimate aces in their rotation.
  19. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) This will be the first time all postseason that the other teams' ace has matched up with Lester starts. Those games aren't certain wins when he's opposing a pitcher like Kluber. It's not gonna matter in my opinion. Lester is the best pitcher in baseball right now. Pretty much a guaranteed victory for the Cubs every time he steps on the bump.
  20. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:12 PM) This isn't basketball. Anything can happen. I'll say Cubs in 6, but I'm not convinced this is a one sided affair. My prediction is Cubs in 5. They split the 2 in Cleveland and then the Cubs take 3 straight at Wrigley.
  21. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) Huh? Yea I agree they aren't as good as the Red Sox offense and slightly better than the Toronto offense. So yea I guess they are a completely different animal. This Cubs team has no weaknesses. They are a wrecking ball and have been all year. I hope I'm wrong, but I will be very surprised if the series even makes it back to Cleveland for a game 6.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 08:37 PM) To be fair, and I have said this before, the Indians shut down the Red Sox and Blue Jays offenses. Those are two pretty damn good offenses that did not "eat big time" against the Indians' pitching. The Cubs are a completely different animal than Boston or Toronto. A Bauer, Tomlin, or Merritt start at Wrigley is gonna be a complete bloodbath.
  23. Hendricks is making these fools all look like AAA hitters. Will the Dodgers even get another baserunner this game?
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) Kershaw has nothing tonight unfortunately. I'm sure Tomlin and Merritt will be way better Ha. Cleveland's lack of starting rotation depth is gonna be their downfall. Cubs are gonna eat big time against those dudes
  25. So I guess it is time to start talking about a Cleveland versus Chicago World Series. This Dodgers team is absolute toast.
