  1. Sit down Harper. Dude had two chances to be a hero this game and blew it. Davis with a 7 out save and the dude pitched yesterday. Cubs got lady luck on their side and everything they do appears to be golden.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:44 PM) Have you watched game 2 and 4 Yep. But game 5 is only one that matters now.
  3. Nats could be given 6 outs this inning and it wouldn't matter.
  4. Every move Maddon makes seems to turn out golden it seems.
  5. Davis is running on fumes and the Nats can't even take advantadge. They deserve to lose.
  6. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:30 PM) Everytime I've watched the Cubs they look so terrible.....but the Nationals are playing scared. This isn't a team I'm feeling scared about facing the Dodgers. The Nats are simply a snake bitten franchise. Highly doubt Dusty is back next year after this debacle of a game.
  7. Why was a slow dude like Lobaton so far off the base anyway? The only way for the Nats to win this game is via the home run. Any baserunner is just a liability at this point.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 10:54 PM) If Wade Davis closes this out Maddon is manager of the century. He will. Probably wont even allow a baserunner. Nats had their chance with Harper up and the bases loaded. 500 million dollar man didn't want to be a hero.
  9. Cubs always answer right back after the Nats score. Definition of clutch. Gonna be real hard for anyone to beat them in a 7 game series.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 09:47 PM) I've been saying that they have a horseshoe up their ass. Cubs are lucky and pretty damn good. That is a lethal combination. Did anyone really expect a Dusty Baker led team to actually beat the defending champs?
  11. What a clown college over in DC. It almost feels like the Cubs are getting a first round bye. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Kershaw twists his ankle walking his dog and can't go against the Cubs in game one.
  12. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Oct 9, 2017 -> 11:59 PM) The Dodgers are going to destroy the Cubs. What makes you think this? The Cubs starting pitching is way too good for any team to ever destroy them in a 7 game series.
  13. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 7, 2017 -> 06:18 PM) Good grief Turner. That ball was out of the DC area code. Nats will be extremely lucky to get 10 hits this entire series. What a pop gun offense. Hopefully the Dodgers or Dbacks can actually put up a fight against this Cubs team.
  14. Nats offense has been asleep since August. This series has a Cubs sweep written all over it.
  15. Aaron Judge is an absolute monster. This Yankees lineup is gonna be scary good for the next 6-7 years.
  16. Q straight up for Judge. Who says no? Git er done Mr. Hahn!
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 09:51 PM) If you are writing off Anderson and Collins this soon you wouldn't have wanted to follow judge and Sanchez in the minors I'm not writing them off, but Collins is looking more and more like a 5th round pick that the Sox took in the top 10.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 09:35 PM) Don't Collins and Anderson sort of suck? They pretty much do. Judge has more homers in one week of baseball than Collins has in his whole minor league career.
  19. Judge and Sanchez are gonna anchor this Yankees lineup for a long long time. How do we get some young mashers like them?
  20. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 10:27 AM) Yeah most people including the guys who analyze players/prospects for a living really just had him penciled in as a low batting average, high power, lots of Ks type of player. He could ultimately just end up being that over his career, though. Judge always had the potential to turn into an absolute monster. He has become that monster and I don't think it is a fluke. My main point was that things can change fast in baseball. Q should have been traded last Winter when his value was at its highest. I don't see the Sox matching up well with anyone at the deadline. It seems like mostly rental pitchers will be dealt. Have a feeling Q will be around all year and this thread will just keep chugging along..
  21. I see that we are back to Q to the Yankees chatter. I remember back when these talks were going on in the Winter and people were saying how Aaron Judge wouldn't cut it as a headliner in any deal for Q. Oh my how things have changed... I don't see Cashman trading away his prospects. The Yanks are ahead of schedule. They will just buy pitching in the offseason.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ May 31, 2017 -> 03:19 PM) I remember something like that for Q but the Boston Globe had a great story breaking down the talks with Dombrowski and Hahn providing quotes. Two stuck out: https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2...LLLP/story.html The Sox weren't serious about moving Sale in July of last year. They had just traded for Shields a month earlier. Asking for Mookie Betts was just wasting everyone's time and totally sounds like a RicK Hahn type move.
  23. QUOTE (Baron @ May 31, 2017 -> 12:47 PM) As far as I'm aware I'm only one poster. Not "some". Also can we stick to one criteria please? Apparently we're not allowed to think that Hahn is asking for too much. But for some reason your allowed to automatically assume the package was substandard. Bingo on the second part of this post. I posted a comment earlier with links to articles where Hahn was quoted as asking for 2-3 elite prospects in exchange for Q. We know he was asking for a Sale like haul for Q. We don't have inside information on what other teams were offering but we have a pretty good idea on what Hahn was asking for. Good move Mr. Hahn. Your million dollar house is now worth 500K.
  24. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ May 31, 2017 -> 10:56 AM) The Sox are still in a really good position. They have no need to trade Q at this point and someone is going to have to blown them away to get him. I think this years results are more of a product of having the revolving door of catchers that have not had experience handling Q in the past. His elevated K and BB rates indicate that they are taking a different approach to getting hitters out. Looking two years down the road, if Q is not traded, you have a rotation of Kopech, Q, Rodon, Fulmer, Lopez/Dunning/Giolito/ Hansen/ or Adams. At that point you can still either look at trading or extending Q depending on how things are working out for the team at that time and having a veteran in the sea of young arms will not be a bad thing. I am not against moving Q, but he is probably a guy that at this point has more value to the Sox if they keep him than anyone is willing to give up. That was true in the offseason when no one wanted to meet the Sox price and is true today. Whenever someone is willing to offer an appropriate value Q will be traded but there is still no need to make a move for the sake of trading him. So you think Kopech is going to be the #1 starter for the Sox two years from now? Also, Fulmer has been getting lit up in AAA this year. He might be destined for the bulpen. I'm not sure that Dunning or Hansen will be ready in two years either. What is appropriate value for Q?
  25. http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-white-so...umors-white-sox http://southsideshowdown.com/2017/01/11/wh...pects-quintana/ From these reports, Hahn wanted two to three elite prospects for Q in the offseason. Think he is going to get anything close to that now or anytime soon?
