  1. A 22 year old in high a with 70 grade raw power should have more than 4 homers at the end of June. Sheets is looking more and more like a 6th or 7th round talent that the Sox took in the 2nd.
  2. Anderson is on pace for a 20 20 season. That is very nice.Would like to see him continue to improve his OBP though. Moncada is reminding me more and more of Dustin Ackley with each passing day. All the tools on paper, dominated lower competition, but became just another guy at the MLB level.
  3. Totally forgot about Puckett. Kid is a former first rounder. Did he have surgery during the offseason or something?
  4. The Rockies are looking more like sellers at this point. The Mariners bullpen looks shaky. Might be able to move Soria there for some c prospect.
  5. Soria is just gonna get you some organizational filler like Ryan Cordell or Casey Gillaspe.
  6. I get it. Think back to 2015 though. The Sox won some game that didn't matter and had Benitendi stolen away from them. I'd rather have that stud then some victory no one remembers.
  7. No one is going to remember this game or losing streak in a year. The Sox need to tank right unlike the Bulls. Need a top 3 pick next June more than a meaningless win tonight.
  8. Yep. Gio looked good and that is all that matters tonight. A Sox win does nothing to help the tank.
  9. This sounds a lot like Moncada as well unfortunately.
  10. Dude, you might be on to something here. Bottle these thoughts up behind some shaky statistics, run it through a homemade algorithm, and sell it to some Bill James wanna be millennial.
  11. Isn't Clarkin on the DL? Dude always seems to be hurt and/or ineffective.
  12. Yep, and dude has been nothing but a professional hitter since he put on a White Sox uniform. It's a crying shame that the incompetent FO couldn't build a competitive team during Abreu's first few years on the South Side. He won't get moved unless Hahn gets absolutely blown away with an offer.
  13. I disagree here. Someone in the Sox organization saw enough in Tatis to sign him and he has the bloodlines which were obviously known about at the time of the trade. The Sox eating most of Shields salary, Eric Johnson, and a couple deep dish pizzas should have been enough for Shields. Hahn and company done messed up there. You are basically agreeing with my original premise in your last paragraph. The Sox need to spend some $ on the right free agents if they want to get after it in 2010.
  14. The Phillies have been rebuilding since 2014 and are only 5 games above 500. Let's check back in on them in a couple months. If the Sox follow that course we won't see above 500 play until 2021. That sounds depressing. The Phillies also spent some $ on Arrieta. You have to figure that they will be be going hard after Machado, Harper, Arenando as well.
  15. Thanks. Doesn't seem like the most reliable metric as not all prospects are ranked the same across the board. How much WAR was Moncada projected to have by now going by his surplus value from when we acquired him?
  16. I don't trust this FO and think it is extremely incompetent. Just a few years back Hahn and Williams were talking about some 3 year plan that never came to fruition and/or was abandoned after 2 years. They traded a guy who is the now a top five prospect in all of baseball for James Shields and then decided to switch gears and rebuild. That trade is a fire-able offense in my world. You seem to know what the plan is. Can you please tell me what year the Sox are expecting to compete in? I thought it was 2020, but I might have missed the memo that it got pushed back to 2011. Thank you.
  17. I just don't see how they will be able to compete in 2020 without bringing in a couple big fish FA. This season is looking like a lock for 100 losses and next year is all about development as well so another 100 loss season isn't out of the question either.
  18. People honestly think that this team is going to be able to compete in 2020? I just don't see it unless they sign a Machado, Harper, or Arenado plus a Front end starter or two.
  19. The kid is only 20 and is destroying AA to the tune of a 950 OPS. Sox should do it if he is available. Abreu deserves a chance to play in October. Trading him will also help the tank this year and next.
  20. Bukauskas was there for the taking last year in the draft. Should have grabbed him or Faedo then.
