  1. Padres should have a deep farm. They have been rebuilding for the better part of a decade.
  2. You guys are hilarious. It's like high school around here apparently. Maybe someday I can get approval and join the cool kids club. Good guess, but Anthony is not correct. Anthony Longo was my Grandfather though.
  3. No Bryan Colangelo shenanigans going around here. I've never upvoted or downvoted a single post. Not even sure how to honestly and this ain't Reddit.
  4. Good problem to have. See the Cubs for another example of this. Nice to see the Brew crew loading up. Hopefully they can catch the Cubs this time.
  5. Nice to see the Pirates showing some balls for once and going for it. Archer has good stuff and might thrive with a switch to the NL.
  6. Isn't the idea of a legit lottery ticket a bit of an oxymoron?
  7. Nice moving of the goalposts bro. I just find the cherry picking of stats iaround here to be very amusing.
  8. Alen Hansen wRC+ of 108 Moncada wRC+ of 95 Isn't using stats like wRC+ in isolation fun???
  9. Thank you for proving my point about using Wrc+ to compare Tucker and Duvall. Again, what stat are you guys cherry picking to show that Tucker is better than Duvall?
  10. I understand how WAR works. I didn't realize that Duvall had triple amount of at bats. My bad there. Alen Hansen wRC+ of 108 Yoan moncada WRC+ of 95 Who is the better player?
  11. Duvall has been worth over 1 WAR this year. Tucker has been worth less than 0.3. Isn't cherry picking stats fun !
  12. Wait wait wait. How can we already judge this trade? If it's too early to pass judgement on Moncada then it is far too early to judge this trade. Duvall has some serious pop in his bat. What if he hits a game winner homer against the Cubs in game five of the NLDS? Something. Does. Not. Compute.
  13. Let Eloy get a 150 at bats at AAA and then get him up to Chicago. It's almost time to unleash the beast!!!
  14. Ha. Good one. I'm actually lead fry cook at the combination taco bell/KFC. Sparky, my manager, likes my attitude and work ethic and thinks management is in my future. My trajectory is so crystal clear that I can see it in the stars.
  15. My middle name is fiesta, duder. Sometime the truth hurts. Kid is mostly likely going to have to get a real job like the rest of us. Y'all are acting like I wished like him and his family to get cancer or something. In the words of Tom Hanks, "there is no crying in baseball."! Also, I watch baseball and go to Soxgames to be entertained. It was painful to watch this kid out in center last year. If I wanted to watch minor league baseball i would go to Kane county not 35th and Shields.
  16. Yes sir. 2020 will be year 4 of the rebuild. The Cubs were able to go deep into the playoffs during year 4 of their rebuild. We should be expecting something similar. The Sox need to spend some money to make this happen though. They need to throw a 100 million plus at Patrick Corbin this offseason. I would also give Nolan Arenado a blank check and let him name his price.
  17. See ya later Jacob. I hear the CJ Wilson Mazda dealership is hiring if you are looking for work.
  18. Damn dude. Take a chill pill before you explode. I hope you have this much angst for the horrible scout and/or Sox personnel that recommended drafting Fulmer with a first round pick. That scout sat through hours of Vandy baseball and couldn't tell that Buehler was the better pitcher. That is failing horribly at your job. At this point there is probably no hope for Carson. The Sox should just DFA and move on I suppose.
  19. The kid has been up and down like a yo-yo since the Sox drafted him. He was also rushed to the big leagues and that may have screwed his development some. I just don't see the harm in letting him continue to start at Charlotte. Who is he blocking there at the moment?
  20. So what? He isn't blocking anyone there at the moment. Let the kid continue to start at Charlotte. This is a throwaway year anyway.
  21. I'm not aware of anyone calling for Moncada to get demoted to AAA or regulated to a super sub role like Leury Garcia. The issues with Moncada are that he is looking like a slightly above average player at this point in his career and not the super star that he was projected to be. He could always become that superstar and is gonna get thousands of at bats in a Sox uniform to prove it. I watched Avi Garcia bumble around in right field for 3 plus years before he showed anything. Why shouldn't Fulmer get the same chance in a throwaway year?
  22. This year and next are still tank years. The goal is to lose as many games as possible while letting the young prospects develop. I see no downside to letting Fulmer continue to start at Charlotte and then bringing him in September once Shields is gone. Give the kid some time to figure it out. The Sox thought so highly of him that they used a top ten pick on him. Let the kid develop at his own pace!!!
  23. So everyone is already ready to give up on this kid as a starter after 13 career big league starts? Not all prospect development is linear and the kid is still just 24 and a former top ten pick. At the very least, the Sox should continue to let him start at AAA until Shields is traded and then let him start in the bigs for the rest of the year. Avi Garcia got 3 plus years and a thousand at bats as a sub replacement player before his breakout all star year. Shouldn't Fulmer at least get 25 or so starts before he is sent to the bullpen?
  24. Be careful about posting anything negative/critical of Moncada around these parts. You will get flagged by the thought control police. Hitting 147 with a 600 OPS against left handed pitching is nothing to worry about. Moncada is still extremely young and raw. It may take him 2000 at bats until everything clicks.
  25. Okay. Thanks for clarifying. Thought we were just talking about this season. 550 at bats and only a 2.6 war is not that impressive really. Albies has almost an equal amount of at bats and is double that in fwar. The Torres kid from NY has 240 at bats and already has close to 2.0fwar. Some real good young blood at second base these days.
