  1. Yoan Moncada is worth 1.0 WAR in 105 games played. David Bote is worth 1.2 WAR in 30 games played. Something is absolutely rotten on the South Side of Chicago.
  2. Let Garcia, Engel, Tilson, and Cordell battle it out for the starting CF job in Spring training. Luis Robert is supposed to be a five tool player. He should be ready to tear it up in 2020. I would go after Machado hard in the offseason to replace Yolmer. If you fail at signing machado let Yolmer play at third in 2019 and give Arenado a blank check.
  3. Rick Hahn and Yoan Moncada have a lot in common. Both are paper tigers.
  4. Didn't you just post about the Astros having three 100 loss seasons in a row? Next year is year 3 of the rebuild. It should be another tank and developmental year. The Astros didn't cut bait on Altuve, Bregman, Springer, or Correa after their slow starts. The only guys I would go after in the offseason are Machado and Patrick Corbin.
  5. Sending Moncada down to Charlotte means this rebuild is heading in the wrong direction very quickly. The kid is 23. You have to let him take him take his lumps at the major league level.
  6. Rich Hahn should be fired on the spot if Moncada is sent back to Charlotte.
  7. No thanks. Let the kids play next year. If you lose 100 games again than so be it. This team needs all the top 3 draft picks that it can acquire.
  8. Let's protect our prized blue chip prospect from at bats during a developmental season.
  9. No one is really pushing him in Charlotte though. Cordell and Tilson look like career AAAA players at this point. Luis Robert should be up by late 2020 or early 2021. Let Engel play every day until the kid from Cuba is ready.
  10. Any other degenerate bovada heads on this board? Severino just hit 8ks for the over on total strikeouts. Every Yankee starting pitcher went over on strikeouts this series. The Sox face Bieber, Bauer, and Carrasco from Cleveland this weekend. I suspect a ton of ks this weekend as well. Get dat easy money during this putrid Sox season!
  11. Take the train. Chicago traffic on Fridays in the Summer is ridiculous. Plus you can drink on the hour long Metra train ride. Just hop an uber to the stadium once you get downtown.
  12. Remember back in 14 when the Twins had the best farm in baseball?
  13. Which is exactly why my posts are so fool of doom and gloom. This organization has shown no ability to scout, develop, and coach young talent. Trying to rebuild without completely cleaning house was an idiotic move. All of the Sox young prospects are struggling at the major league level. You can't just click your heels three times and magically turn into the Astros, Cubs, and Yankees.
  14. And the Yanks got him for a half of a season of Chapman! The Sox never should have let Hahn lead this rebuild. They should just put off the inevitable and fire him this offseason after Moncada breaks the single season strike out record and finishes with less WAR than David Bote.
  15. I mean why not? The fans need to be entertained somehow. The Sox are basically a triple A team compared to the Yanks.
  16. The joys of rebuilding. The sad thing is next year is gonna be just as painful most likely
  17. Go is terrible at home and the Yanks ain't the Royals or the Ray's.
  18. It's just straight up denial at this point. It's much easier to handle his collapse by having a scapegoat. Blame the umps, blame the weather, blame the stars...
  19. There is no train directly from Waukegan to Sox Park. You will have to take the Metra train from Waukegan to Ogilive Station in the loop. From Ogilive, you can hop on either the Green Line or the Red line ( subway train). Both lines have stops near the stadium although the Red Line stop is much closer. You could also just Uber from the Loop to the Stadium. There are a couple of bars directly attached to the stadium that you can pre-game at. One is directly attached to Gate 5. Be prepared to pay ballpark prices for drinks and food though. Marias ( https://www.yelp.com/biz/marias-packaged-goods-and-community-bar-chicago) and Mitchells ( http://www.mitchellstap.net/menu/) are two neighborhood bars that are about a mile west of the Stadium off Halsted. I would check these places out if you have time. You will defintely be hanging with some Bridgeport locals if you go to Mitchells. Saturday is the Jim Thome Bobblehead game! Have fun and safe travels!
  20. It is still too early to judge the trade. However, it is not out of the realm of possibility to think that Hahn and company were simply outsmarted by a superior front office in Boston. Hahn had just traded away Tatis Junior six months prior to the Sale trade. I'm not sure that the Sox had the right internal processes going on back in 2016.
  21. Informative post. Good god, those numbers with an 0-2 count are vomit inducing. The only place for them to go is up. My concern is that the Sox lack anyone on the coaching and developmental side who can help this kid improve his count management. He is going to have figure out a lot of stuff on his own. Let's hope he is up to the task.
  22. He's important to the rebuild of this team plans to contend within the next two or 3 years. If we are talking about a 7 or 8 year rebuild like the one in San Diego then he is just another guy treading water until the real studs arrive in 2025 lol.
