  1. Yep. Next year is looking like another tank year for sure. Way too many question marks on the position player side of things. Unless the Sox shock the world and spend big this offseason we are looking at more playing time for stalwarts like Adam Engel, Matt Davidson, Avi Garcia, Wellington Castillo, and Carlos Sanchez. The Sox might even resign big game James to a one year deal to take Kopechs place and eat some innings again. Gonna be another exciting year on the South Side! Get your 2019 tix before they are gone!
  2. Who is there really left to trade though? Abreau and Avi, I suppose, but both those guys should have been traded last offseason if that was the plan. Any return this offseason will be minimal and I honestly think the Sox re-sign Jose. They are going to need someone to play first base in 2020 and beyond. Some people are saying to trade Rodon but that seems asinine to me and signals that the Sox are willing to punt away the 2020 and 2021 season. The fact that there is even conversation about trading Rodon is a huge indictment of the progress of the rebuild. I didn't see the Cubs or Houston trading away any of their young core pieces during their rebuilds. The Sox are going to have to add some impact FA if they are serious about competing any time soon. This offseason will be very interesting.
  3. Rick Hahn number of postseason appearances as GM=0 FootlongComiskeydog number of postseason appearances as GM=0 There are morons all over this world.
  4. Quit comparing the Sox rebuild to the Astros. The Astros rebuilt mainly around position players and didn't trade a future HOF pitcher for Mark Appel. Also, you are assuming that the Sox FO is as talented as Luhnow and company. The Sox FO is nowhere close. It's like comparing a law degree from SIU to one from Harvard. The two are not even close to equal.
  5. Woah, take it easy there tough guy. No one is gloating here. Sometimes the truth really does sting. I'm an authentic fan! I want this organization to win another WS in my lifetime. That is never going to happen under this current regime and it is becoming more and more clear with each passing day. People are already talking about trading Rodon on here and how the Kopech injury is gonna push back the rebuild window a couple years. Why delay what seems inevitable at this point? Fire Hahn and company and hire some people who actually know what they are doing.
  6. Yoan Moncada= Strike out king with less WAR on the year than David Bote Lucas Giolito= xFIP of 5.48. That is no bueno. Reynaldo Lopez=xFIP of 5.42. Not as bad as Giolito but still no bueno Michael Kopech= In the infirmary for the foreseeable future Luis Robert= No homers so far in full season minor league play and is built like the tin man. Nick Madrigal= No dingers or triples in 43 minor league games Jake Burger= Probably retore his achilles answering the door for his Dominoes Pizza delivery Carson Fulmer= Soon to be pursuing opportunities on the traveling swim meet circuit as a goggle salesman. Letting Rick Hahn and company architect this rebuild was a terrible decision. Where is the light at the end of the tunnel?
  7. How convienent for this front office. I'm tired of the damn excuses and losing baseball. I guess we got another two more years of tanking baseball to look forward to.
  8. The Cub were smart and did not rebuild mainly around pitching like the Sox. There is absolutely no guarantee that this rebuild turns into anything like the Cubs or Astros. Can we please get a mulligan on the Chris Sale trade?
  9. Just avoid the inevitable and fire Hahn and company this offseason. This is looking more and more like a never-ending rebuild with each passing day.
  10. The Sox are absolutely delusional if they think they can pull off successful rebuild without signing any impact free agents. This team is gonna have a dirt cheap payroll very soon. I don't see the whole point of tearing everything down if they aren't willing to spend big to supplement the young core pieces.
  11. Why is Ryan Burr even on the roster if the Sox aren't going to pitch him at all?
  12. The luxury tax penalty will be peanuts compared to the new revenue generated by having their own network. They will definitely go hard after Machado and Harper. Money is not an issue on the North Side.
  13. The rich just keep on getting richer. Didn't the Dodgers get like 8 billion dollars or something ridiculous like that a few years back? I imagine that the Cubs will get at least half of that. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they sign both Machado and Harper in the offseason. For some, money truly does grow on trees.
  14. Moncada was the higher rated prospect. He is also over a year older. Moncada=31 million dollar signing bonus. Torres= 1.7 million signing bonus. Makes perfect sense to me.
  15. Gorman's total minor league numbers right now are OBP=395, OPS=1.009, and a batting average of 312. Compare those numbers to what Madrigal has put up so far. Gorman is only 18 and already in low A. Little Nicky is three years older and only one level ahead! Bryce Bush has been impressive so far. Let's check back on him once he makes it to full season ball.
  16. Sure. He has been a huge disappointment this year though. What excuses will be made for him if he is still striking out 30% of the time with a sub 100 WRc+ this time next year?
  17. This post is fake news. No one was calling a Kopech a bust. Also, isnt it a bit premature to be calling him the prize of the deal?
  18. Moncada gets to 2 strikes and looks like a deer caught in the headlights. The kid has shown absolutely no ability to adjust his approach and I'm worried that the Sox coaching staff have no idea on how to work with him
  19. The past two world series champions set a nice example of a successful rebuilding timeline. 2019 will be year 3 of the White Sox rebuild. Let's look at the Astros and Cubs for comparison. The Cubs went 73 and 89 during the 2014 season (year 3 of their rebuild). Anthony Rizzo was the only opening day starter who would be on World Series team two years later. The Astros went 51 and 111 during 2013 (year 3 of their rebuild). Marwin Gonzalez and Jose Altuve were the only position players on the 2013 team that factored in the 2017 World Series run. Dallas Kuechel and Brad Peacock were the only pitchers. I think it is pretty safe to say that 2019 will be another losing season on the South Side. It will be a developmental year and most likely the majority of the players on the roster will not factor into the next White Sox World Series Championship team.
  20. I also like the new Revolution bar at the Stadium, the nacho helmet, and paying only $10 park to on Sundays. Also, get over yourself, man. You are not the White Sox fandom gestapo and I don't need to prove anything to you.
  21. It's also a meatheaded analysis to compare his struggles at age 23 to a guy like Altuve. The two players are absolutely nothing alike. Altuve has proven he is one of the best in the game. Moncada hasn't proven anything yet. Also, following that logic, why would the Sox give up on a guy like Carson Fulmer as a starter already? Look at his first 13 games started compared to John Smoltz's. Smoltz turned into a great pitcher. Fulmer most certainly can as well, right?
  22. Let Zavala, Smith, and Narvaez battle it out in Spring Training. Collins was drafted in 2016 out of college. He should be ready to go by 2020.
  23. Gio is such a different pitcher on the road. Encouraging start but let's see how he does next week against Boston back on the South Side. Also, the Sox need to give Jose Rondon more playing time to see what they have with him. Probably time to send Yolmer to the bench.
  24. Thanks Captain Obvious. Players can also struggle at age 23 and be out of baseball within 3 years. This organization hasn't made the playoffs in a decade so there hasn't been much to like. I liked watching Sale and Q pitch every 5 days back in the day. Right now, I like looking at Eloy and Kopech highlights. I like the giant gold chain that they are passing around when a dude homers.
  25. Yep. Comparing Moncada at 23 to Altuve at 23 means very little. For one, Altuve was signed for 15K while Moncada signed for close to 30 million. Altuve was also never anywhere near the #1 overall prospect in baseball. If anything, this comparison is a huge indictment of throwing tens of millions of dollars at a single young player from Latin America/Cuba. Signing kids from there is an absolute crapshoot and teams were much wiser to spread their money over 50-75 guys rather than blowing their wad one one guy. Also, John Smoltz first 12 mlb starts=ERA+ of 67 Carson Fulmer first 13 mlb starts=ERA+ of 63 See everyone at Carson's Coopertown Induction Ceremony in 20 years!
