  1. Looks like you are getting your wish. One of the mods here is playing around with my account behind the scenes it appears. My user name has suddenly changed. Very strange.
  2. Message received. Please don't forget to save me a seat at Moncadas hall of fame ceremony.
  3. I have posts in other threads that have nothing to do with Moncada. You also need to look around a little. Anytime anyone brings up anything negative about Moncada they are quickly swarmed by a few select posters quickly coming to his defense and reaffirming the party line that everything is okay. The Sox have been selling this kid as a Porsche from the moment they traded for him. It's too bad that he looks like a Toyota Corrolla at this point.
  4. What is wrong with comparing Moncada to his young peers at second base? People compare themselves to their fellow peers all the time. Is what I said wrong? Do you really think Moncada is a more valuable player than Albies or Torres?
  5. Thanks 4 the info. I'll check back on him in a couple years.
  6. Dude, do not ask questions like this around here. All thoughts, opinions, and questions about Moncada must only be positive and uplifting in nature. Moncada's value has cratered since the Sox traded for him. Hahn would get laughed out of the room if he tried to trade him one for one for a young second baseman like Albies or Torres. Former Sox castaway Alen Hansen is currently a better player than Moncada. That should tell you all you need to know. Hahn should have stood firm with Boston and gotten Bentintendi instead of Moncada but a bad gm is a bad gm.
  7. Nah man. It's one giant conspiracy by the umps to screw him over. Good players make adjustments. Let's hope Mr. Moncada is capable of adapting his game.
  8. I'm a fellow Illini so you shouldn't be too skeptical. I'm lazy and never changed my username back after the forum got back from its vacation/hiatus. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.
  9. 33rd round draft pick lol. Looking like a more promising 3rd base prospect than Jake Burger at this juncture I suppose.
  10. Moncada DRS 2017 =6 Moncada DRS 2018=1 His numbers are going the wrong way very quickly and there is no guarantee they ever improve. Moncada is nothing more than a paper tiger at this point in his career.
  11. Moncada's defensive numbers are not improving though. Some highly touted prospects never reach their ceiling or even come close to it. So far that seems to be the course that Moncada is taking.
  12. Who the hell is Bryce Bush and why should any Sox fan be excited about him?
  13. Yep. I would leave Cease down in Birmingham for the rest of this year with a close eye on his innings. Let him start next year in Charlotte with the goal of getting him up to the Show in August/September to work out of the bullpen. He should be in the starting rotation come 2020 if everything goes according to plan.
  14. Everyone knew this kid was a high risk high reward draft pick. The majority of those, especially on the pitching side, will burn out far before they reach the Show. Hansen flaming out ala Aiken or Appel isn't that detrimental to the rebuild.
  15. Yep. The Sox are going to have to spend some pretty big money in FA to round this thing out. Thinking that this organization can develop a team like the Cubs or Astros solely through internal players is downright delusional. The Cubs signed Lester before they were fully ready to compete. I would like to see the Sox do the same with someone like Patrick Corbin this offseason.
  16. Obviously not and you know that. We are Sox fans. It was fun to laugh at the Cubs for putting a bumbling, unathletic, former catcher in the outfield and watch him stumble around. Now I look at the stats and the guys who was a running three stooges meme is fielding his position extremely better than the Sox's shiny former #1 prospect.
  17. I'm just trying to figure out what parts of Moncada's game have improved so far in 2018. The kid can't even field his position as well as Kyle freaking Schwarber.
  18. You are going to get in trouble for asking questions like this around here.
  19. His numbers are pedestrian across the board and down from 2017 in almost every category. What happened with Boston almost two years ago is ancient history at this point. Also, have you looked at his defensive numbers this year? They are pretty atrocious. Here are some fun numbers to digest. Kyle Schwarber 2018 DRS=4, 2018 UZR=6.4 Yoan Moncada 2018 DRS=1, 2018 UZR= -3.0
  20. Palka with another bomb today. Is there any way this kid could be molded into a poor mans version of Kyle Schwarber?
  21. Yoan Moncada wRC+ =95 Alen Hanson wRC+= 108
  22. Collins offense numbers only stick out if he can stay at catcher. The Collins situation is looking too similar to the Fulmer situation for my liking. The consensus was that Fulmer was a high end reliever at best and the Sox tried to get cute and use him as a starter. The consensus is that Collins won't stick behind the plate and everything seems to pointing to that as well. Isn't Hosteller on record as saying he would take have taken Collins 1:1? Are we sure that this guy knows what he is doing in the draft room?
  23. Let's put the LaRoche daycare saga behind us please. I would like the tapes discussing the Eaton trade however. Would be very interesting to hear if Juan Sotos name came up at all. I would return all 3 of Giolito, Lopez, and Dunning for him in a heartbeat.
  24. Me neither. I reccomend the footlongcomiskeydog on your next visit to Sox Park. I believe the stand is located right around section 135. Ask for extra sport peppers and tell them Tongo sent ya!!!
  25. Send em Shields. Innings eater baby!!
