Luis Robert not really pressing for a promotion to Winston Salem. Kid should be feasting on low a ball pitching.
-
How do you know that Benintendi was untouchable? Chris Sale was on the table...

Not all development is linear. Moncada only has 450 career plate appearances. It might take him 1500 to 2000 plate appearances before everything clicks.
-
Kyle freaking Schwarber is worth almost double the WAR than Moncada. The kid was overhyped from day one and there is a reason why Boston let him go. He will never be a superstar if he keeps striking out 40% of the time.
-
Moncada straight up for Albies. Who says no?
-
Something is definitely amiss here. We haven't heard a peep about him since his extended spring training start over two weeks ago. Just have the inevitable surgery now and quit wasting time.

Jordan Guererro got shelled once again. Dude is looking like just organizational filler at this point unfortunately.

Moncada, Anderson, Abreu, and Sanchez are the only regular position players that can contribute to a winning team. I'm not yet sold on Davidson. Lopez is the only current guy in the rotation. Rodon will be back but counting on him to stay healthy is a fools errand. The FO is going to have to spend some $ on a couple FA arms if they expect to be competing in 2020. -
The kid is barely of legal drinking age and is already at 2.0 war on the season.
-
Looks like Albies didn't get your memo. The kid just continues to produce and is two years younger than Moncada.
-
How is Rodon a lock? Dude is as fragile as a china doll. Kopech is still young and may experience massive growing pains ala Fulmer and Giolito this year. He may have to spend time down in Charlotte again next year. Same goes for Stephens. Hansen hasn't even pitched yet this year and his arm is a ticking time bomb. I don't think we see Dunning until after the all star break in 09. Fulmer is gonna end up in the bullpen and Gio looks like a lost cause. Dylan Covey is Dylan Covey. Signing a starter makes perfect sense cause you can never have too much pitching.
-
Its still way too early to evaluate the Eaton trade. If none of Giolito, Lopez, or Dunning are in the starting rotation in two years then I would say that Hahn got owned once again. I suspect Gio will be sent down if he continues to walk everyone in sight. The fact that his fastball is sitting in the low 90s is extremely concerning.

That is one putrid outfield. Vomit inducing almost. This Sox team is looking more and more like a 110 loss ball club with each passing day.
-
I said he had nothing left to learn in AAA and I stand by that statement. The kid is 24 years old and was drafted in the top 10 three years ago as a "supposed" polished college arm. I don't think a trip down to AAA is gonna do him any good. I agree with you in that he never should have seen the big leagues in 2016 but it is too late to do anything about that now. In my opinion, the Sox are wasting their time trying to make him a starter. They should have just sent him to the bullpen instead of sending him back down. His ceiling is looking more and more like a high leverage reliever with each passing day.
-
I have a feeling we will be saying this same thing about Mr. Giolito very soon as well.
-
This kid is nowhere close to being a top closer in this league. Its not just his control issues. His stuff just isn't that good. Whoever scouted Fulmer is bad at his job. The better pitcher on Vandy was Buehler. Another top 10 pick that the Sox would redo in a heartbeat if they could.
-
So will we see another Carson Fulmer start in the Show or will he be sent down to Charlotte? I honestly think the Sox will be extremely lucky if he even turns out to be a high leverage reliever. Some scout for the White Sox spent hours upon hours watching Vanderbilt baseball and recommended Fulmer over Buehler. That is no bueno.
