QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:51 PM) Wtf Yoan The kid looks like anything but a can't miss prospect. Can we get a mulligan and trade him back for Devers please?
-
So what exactly does Moncada do well again besides hit the ball hard?
-
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:39 PM) Is anybody else thinking about hitting the Panic Button? This team is so bad. They are looking more and more like a 100 loss team with each passing day.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:28 PM) I'm more focused on the 12 walk, 8 strikeout stat. Berrios has more strikeouts tonight than Giolito has all year. No bueno.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:21 PM) His defense is worse this season that last Who is worse out in left, Delmonico or Schwarber?
-
This Twins team has some really nice pieces to build around with Berrios, Sano, Buxton, Kepler. They have a pretty deep farm as well. Arrow is pointing up for them unfortunatley.
-
So what is the over/under date on when Moncada gets yanked from the leadoff spot? I'll say Memorial Day.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 08:42 PM) I think they are good scouting minor league talent but have been amazingly bad trading/signing big league players. The draft scouting is also very questionable They haven't made the playoffs in a decade. The FO office has been bad at pretty much everything.
-
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 08:14 PM) we look like absolute trash. dumpster fire. lee elias rant bad. Looking like a team that wants the #1 draft pick in 2019!
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 08:04 PM) Why does Stone keep talking like Giolito had a good curve last year? He legit had two swing and misses on it all year. He looks like total garbage Pretty much all of the Sox prospects except Lopez look like garbage right now.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 07:52 PM) Yoan needs a day off or something The season just started. Dude doesn't need a day off.
-
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 07:37 PM) He’s pretty damn impressive. Throws tons of strikes and his offspeed pitches move a s*** load Berrios and Giolito are the same age. Berrios already looks light years ahead of him.

Rays @ White Sox 4/11/18 1:10 PM

If you are going to tank a season, it is best to go full tank and not half ass it. These losses to Tampa now might be blessing in September. Let's get that #1 pick next year baby! -

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 02:56 PM) What value does Adam Engel bring to a MLB caliber team? Very little. Charlie Tilson will most likely be the starter in CF come Memorial Day. Of course that is all dependent on Mr. Tilson not pulling his hamstring doing yoga or breaking his foot while stepping off the team bus. -
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:39 AM) I was going to say experience and veteran leadership...which he would still bring to the table if he is left off the roster so I guess I don't know. He brings absolutely nothing to the table. The guy hasn't got a hit in his last 30 postseason at-bats. He can't field well and can barely throw the ball over to first. 2008 was a long time ago...

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 11:31 PM) Guys relax. The Dodgers are still going to win the series. This game was the cubs saving face. They blew their Davis load, now they are absolutely f***ed tomorrow. I am going to place a RL bet on the Dodgers are soon as the lines are up. 2K! Dodgers will still win the series but the Cubs won't let it happen at Wrigley. Dodgers will be favored to win tomorrow. Smart $ will be on the home underdog.

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 11:19 PM) Bellinger couldn't have asked for better pitch to hit. Big blunder by Roberts with his crappy lineup Roberts starting Utley and Granderson was idiotic. Your team has been absolutely rolling and you decide to mess with your starting lineup and put in two of the worst hitters in baseball? Utley is like 0 for his last 30 or somethig and Granderson cannot hit a breaking ball to save his life.
-
I still dont understand Roberts refusal to pitch hit for Granderson or Utley last inning. Makes no sense.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 10:52 PM) Not a single bit of solid contact in those 2 ABs. There needs to be a serious investigation if they are both in the starting lineup tomorrow. Both dudes bat speeds are so slow. It is like having the pitchers spot come up 3 times in your starting lineup.
-
Why are Utley and Granderson not being pitch hit for?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 09:46 PM) What a terrible 5-9 in Dodgers order tonight Yep. Roberts got too cute in this game. Utley and Granderson are toast.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 09:19 AM) So these teams lose one series and they're "snake-bitten"? Give me a break. And they hardly showed swagger in the NLDS, they were trying their hardest to give away the game to the Nationals. The Nats are a snake-bitten franchise in general. They lose every year in the first round. Did you not see the game last night? A bunch of clowns lead by a jester named Dusty. The Cubs definitely showed swagger. Russell and Zobrist seem to be able to get clutch hits on demand. Contreras is an absolute beast behind the plate and made a huge play last night. Wade Davis comes in and gets a 7 out save after pitching poorly the night before. Edwards Jr talking trash before the game and the Cubs backing him up. The list goes on.. You know the Dodgers were hoping the Nationals somehow pulled it off last night. They don't want to face this Cubs team again in the postseason.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 07:57 AM) Will somebody just beat these assholes??? I hear ya. I don't think it will be the Dodgers though. These NL teams are all pretty much snake-bitten by the Cubs. The Dodgers, just like the Nats, haven't shown the ability to win a big series over the past decade. I don't expect that to suddenly change against this Cubs team. The Cubs just seem to have a swagger that makes other teams piss down their legs in big situations ( Tribe last year, Kershaw last year, Schezer and Harper last night). My prediction is Cubs in six based on dominant starting pitching from the Cubs big four and timely hitting. I'm actually kind of glad that Cleveland got knocked out as they are also snake-bitten by this Cubs team. Astros or Yankees will be able to go toe to toe with the Cubs and shouldn't be scared.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:51 PM) Well the Dodgers have been given a gift. No excuses to not win the next series, Cubs have a spent pen and will have to start either Lackey or a pitcher on short rest for Games 1 and 2. That is all true, but does it matter? Cubs may just concede game one against Kershaw and go for the split with Lester on the bump for game 2.
-
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:43 PM) The National League collectively is terrible. The Nationals have choked slightly more than the Cubs. It's embarrassing watching this series. I really hope the Dodgers avoid playing scared like the Nationals have here. How many hangers have the Nationals missed? Its so unbelievable Cubs handled the Dodgers fairly easily last year. The Cubs won't be scared of the Dodgers that much is certain.
