QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) Well at least you guys arent Wisconsin this year. Right now they are just horrible and the biggest problem is that Marcus Landry has become useless and its so hard for Bo to bench his seniors. (Its hard to say it but Landry and Krabbenhoft have been liabilities, especially when they are both on the court.) Who would you want him to play though? It isn't like Wisconsin has a lot of depth. -

You know, I'm not pissed we lost and I'm not pissed they played bad, but I am pissed that they quit in the last 5 minutes of the game. That almost never happens with a Weber coached team. Oh and props to Minny for their D tonight they challenged almost every shot and of course even when we did have an open shot or layup we missed it anyway. They would have struggled to score against a 7th grade girls team tonight. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 10:29 PM) When you beat a team 21 times in a row, the odds say a loss is imminent, especially when your opponent is pretty good and it's on the road. At the same time, this is one of the worst offensive games I've ever seen any college team play, let alone Illinois. Just an all around terrible performance. Legion has been disappointing, Davis didn't want to play tonight and Trent hasn't hit a shot in a month. -

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 12:26 PM) I saw G'Town really take it to Connecticut in Storrs earlier this year and Summers and Monroe played great. I didnt say I thought they could win, but with those two playing well I could see them winning 2 or 3 games. Same with Gonzaga. Obviously they have played porrly at times but they have the talent (Heytvelt, Daye, Pargo, Bouldin) to cause trouble to some teams. Louisville has just flat out looked great in the last couple weeks. Also, losing to Minnesota isnt a killer as Minnesota has a decent team at least. Plus, its college hoops, it happens (UNC/BC for example). Samuels is really playing well right now and Sosa has been shooting great. They are athletic and right now could play with anyone in the country IMO. And I only mentioned the unranked teams like Florida, ND and Kansas more to point out that a lot of the teams that are currently ranked just arent really that great. Georgetown can't shoot the ball which is obviously going to keep them from doing anything in the tourney. They have good wings but they have no depth inside and they are terrible 3 pt shooting team. Monroe and Summers are very good but the rest of that team just isn't that great. I will say that their athleticism can make them a tough out come tourney time. Louisville is clearly not the same team they were early in the year. But the reason for their turnaround is simple, they are the best defensive team in the country. I still don't like their guards at all (Sosa has been terrible this year and only shot the ball well in his last game) but Williams, Clark, and Samuels is as good as it gets for a frontcourt. They still need to get better on the offensive side of the ball to be a true final 4 team. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 01:56 AM) And Tennessee loses again... NIT bound! Most disappointing season in UT basketball history so far... How the hell did we beat Georgetown and Marquette??? Georgetown really isn't that good. Can't explain the Marquette win though. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 11:49 PM) I wasnt a huge fan of the sesame street references, but they were tolerable because the rest of the episode was so good. I must say, I Elliot when she dresses down, she looks so damn good. And Kelso losing his angry niche is kind of sad, I mean he really lost it at the end of the episode. I always loved his feuds with the Janitor. Finally, Ive heard rumors about that spinoff, but anybody have more details on how it would be? Just no JD if he doesnt come back? Or do they jsut start new with the newest set of interns (as in get rid of Chalke, Faison)? Braff has already said he isn't coming back, Bill Lawrence isn't coming back an Judy Reyes (Carla has said she isn't coming back). Without JD and Carla it wouldn't make sense to have Turk and Elliot so I think Chalke and Faison would be gone. So basically yes the rumors are that it will be basically a new cast. My guess is the show would revolve around Dr. Cox as chief of medicine with new interns and doctors. I'm not really sure how I would feel about that.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 02:29 PM) From the reply it looked like a clean play all around. Jackson had no idea the Wis player was there, until he was on the floor looking up. That was not even close to a clean play. He clearly throws an elbow that hits Jackson square in the face. If you watch that and think that is a clean play, well then you badly need your eyes checked because I fear you are going blind. -

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 07:29 PM) Our best player was sick, Wichita is the only real bad loss and you are bound to lose to one bad team on the road. Look at Mich St. vs. Northwestern. Indy St. could beat Northwestern. LOFL. Indiana State couldn't beat Indiana more than 3 out of 10 times. That team is laughably bad. And sorry to tell you this but Creighton isn't a good team. Nobody in the MVC is good this year. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 09:27 AM) Osiris and Champ are good, bit there is a reason there are at ISU and not a Big Ten school or other major conference. Eldridge could play just about anywhere. Champ on the other hand was mediocre at best for 3 years at Oregon and wouldn't be putting up anywhere near the numbers he is now if he was in a major conference. -

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 02:11 AM) http://www.kansascity.com/167/story/996990.html geez, why would I lie about KU football recruiting. Well technically he hasn't signed yet, high school players can't sign until February 4th. Not sure if that is what he was talking about or not though. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 11:35 PM) And the Palmer story is that Illini fans thought he was better than Hansbrough when they played at an open gym on their visit to Illinois. Arizona just got absolutely f***ed by the refs in their state rivalry game against ASU. Down 2 with 10 seconds left, they called a moving pick. It's too bad that Horne didn't get the chance to cost them another game with a foul in a tie game. He did play better then Hansbrough when they were on their visit. Which is why you should never judge players based on one viewing. And when Palmer visited he was a consensus top 50 recruit who then never developed after that point. -

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) Also: Illinois State loses again, this time to Wichita State (8-11). For a team that's so amazingly ridiculous and that owns the best back court in the NCAA, they sure do lose a lot to crappy teams. Well the MVC tournament should be interesting considering that no one from that conference is going to get an at large bid. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) B.J. Mullens is going to go pro, no matter how he plays this year. Draftexpress mentioned that his family needs the money a few weeks back. Plus at 7 ft 250 or whatever he is listed at with great athleticism he will be a lottery pick just based on potential. -

Well it was nice to see Legion have a good game. But this is why McCamey drives me nuts, he obviously couldn't make jump shots so attack the basket and create for yourself or someone else. He and Trent were just unbelievably bad today. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) So far we have ISU as probably the best backcourt in the country, and Ill with a top 10 back court. Neither team is ranked and neither has a lottery pick on the roster. Is there some possibility that there is ALOT of homerism going on here? The only reason Illinois isn't ranked right now is because nobody expected them to be this good this year. Hell, they still will likely struggle at some point during Big 10 play but they clearly have been one of the top 25 teams in the country. Just like the only reason Louisville is still any where near the rankings is because they were ranked in the top 5 in the preseason. That is a terrible argument to use. And for the record I don't think Illinois currently has a top 10 backcourt but there really aren't a whole lot of truly great backcourts in college basketball this year outside of UNC.
