I most definitely concur, sir. I most definitely concur.

What about the 1800-2100 (The gov't won't release numbers) of random Arabs who were picked up and detained? OldRoman, it is admirable that you want to believe everything your government says, but I just have a few words for you....COINTELPRO. The Pentagon Papers. Gulf of Tonkin. (the incident that never happened that got us involved in Vietnam) This is our government.

Old Roman, do you even know what democratic socialism entails? Grab a f***ing book and read about it before you make a blanket statement on it. Way to be ignorant. K thx.

OldRoman, the gas has been proven that it can kill people. Even our biggest ally, the UK, said that they wouldn't support the Bush regime's usage of the gas. Doesn't that raise some flags? And as for the anti-American comments, you obviously haven't read the Constitution. It allows for me to freely speak my mind and criticize my government. I love the rights I have in this nation. I do not like our foreign policy, our "President's" actions, CIA & US military governmental overthrows our nation has undertaken, et al. How are my articles anti-American lies when they are written by a major newspaper from one of our greatest allies? Please explain. Senseless and idiotic. Yes, that is some of the words that I would use to describe a war in Iraq. My avatar makes perfect sense because our "President" didn't really win the election. And, OldRoman, your want of (and lust for) US dominance reflects that of the current administration. But those that work for peace will always trump those who merely hunger for sovereignty. And OldRoman, next time, if you wanna address me, try not using ad hominem attacks and instead show me where my argument is flawed using facts and proof because that would be a lot better than your unverified ramblings.

The gas is the same type that was used during the Russian theater fiasco and we all saw that the gas killed some of the hostages. Not injured them, KILLED them. The gas has been banned by international law, so if the Bush regime uses them, they are war criminals as well. And OldRoman, there were only a few Democrats/Republicans that I actually like. Alan Keyes - He may be a right wing nutball, but he moshed on "The Awful Truth" Dennis Kucinich - Congressman out of Ohio who is running for president. Anti-war, progressive and vegan. Paul Wellstone - Well, he's dead but he was one of my favorite Congressmen because he was a real advocate for labor. And believe the article, OldRoman. It's from a major British newspaper....and they, unlike here, actually report news. (Instead of the "Meg Ryan is getting divorced" story that takes up half the air time) I hate Bush for many reasons 1) He didn't win the election 2) He has the IQ of a 7 year old 3) He actively wants to be a war criminal disregarding international law and the Constitution If the President was a Democrat, you damn well believe that I would be out doing my best effort to stop Tipper "Music/TV Nazi" Gore and Pat "Holy f*** This Guy is So Whacked Out" Lieberman. Trust me, Lieberman scares me more than the entire Bush regime and I hate Lieberman more than the entire Bush regime. And if you must know, I kind of like the type of government they have in Sweden: democratic socialism.

OldRoman, we've captured a ton of Arab Americans. The vast majority (about 99.8% so far) have nothing to do with terrorism. They were just picked up because they happened to be Arab. Try reading "It's a Free Country" and you can see numerous examples of this from the people themselves. And how do we know they are Al-Qaeda? They won't release the names, won't allow them to contact family, won't allow them contact with lawyers, etc. A New York court recently ruled that that sort of secrecy was "odious to democracy" and that the names needed to be released to the public (Thank you God for the ACLU! ) But because the government says that they have captured terrorists, we are supposed to believe them? These are the same people that said Gulf War Syndrome doesn't exist. (Try telling that to the people who have been afflicted with it)

I don't have to pledge allegiance to the war to be American. And by wanting to censor me, you inherently violate the freedoms of the country with you so greatly adore. Don't you find it the least bit hypocritical to go disarm people of illegal weapons and in the process using illegal weapons?

US Plans to Use Illegal Weapons by Severin Carrell The Independent (UK) Sunday, February 16, 2003 While American forces invading Iraq face the threat of chemical attack, they could themselves be using biochemical agents which are banned under international law. The US Secretary of Defence, Donald Rumsfeld, revealed earlier this month that American forces are planning to use "non-lethal" biochemical weapons such as anti-riot gases and crowd control agents if they invade Iraq. Mr Rumsfeld and General Richard Myers, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the House of Representatives Armed Services Committee they were preparing to ask President George Bush for permission to use these weapons, known in military circles as "calmatives", on Iraqi civilians, in cave systems or to take prisoners. But two of Britain's leading authorities on chemical weapons, Professor Alistair Hay and Professor Julian Perry-Robinson, who are collaborating on an expert guide for the World Health Organisation, said such weapons are illegal under the 1992 Chemical Weapons Convention and the 1928 Geneva Protocol, which ban the use of chemical agents against people in wartime. "It would be absolutely outrageous if they did this," said Prof Hay, an epidemiologist at Leeds University. "Surely this war against Iraq is to stop the use of those weapons, not about also using them." The dangers of such weapons were exposed, the experts said, when Russian special forces used an opiate-based crowd control gas, with devastating consequences, on Chechen rebels holding theatregoers hostage in Moscow in October. Both men said Mr Rumsfeld's comments also threatened to put the Pentagon on a collision course with Britain. Ministry of Defence experts have repeatedly warned their US counterparts that their proposed use of these weapons in warfare is illegal.

I care! and the U.S. cares because France has veto power in the UN Security Council so a war resolution from the UN is not going through! WOOHOO FOR FRANCE!
-
France fell after approximately 6 weeks after the German invasion. France is the "wussiest country" because they don't see the need to have their countrymen go die in a nation where the United States is lying to find every last reason to invade. Without the Bush regime wagging the dog of war, Bush might have to *gasp* address why we have only captured one definite member of Al-Qaeda (Zacarias Moussaoui) and the fact that we spent so much in the invasion of Afghanistan and got a whole lot of nothing out of it. Bush may also have to address why the new round of tax cuts are being bashed by Greenspan and the FED saying that tax cuts won't help. If the United States can present a case with current proof which shows that the ONLY way to alleviate the situation in Iraq is a war, France and the rest of the EU would be behind the war. However, the EU values peaceful measures a lot more than the United States does. It's funny that you guys cannot show why France is wrong in wanting peace and wanting to exercise diplomatic peaceful means instead of rushing headlong into warfare. Why not stop with the ad hominem attacks and show why they are wrong for their stance. I guess it just might be that they didn't believe Colin Powell's speech when it was plagiarized VERBATIM from some 1992 work done by a grad school student. Hahahaha! The Bushies Lie! France sees peace being great and when the U.S. is lying to get them and the world community to fight, then they are more than correct in their anti-war position.

France is finally bailing us out for once!

Big Bad Bartolo in the Black and Silver
LowerCaseRepublican replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It is going to be so beautiful to watch him mow through lineups and rack up the wins for the White Sox. March 31 can't come fast enough! I almost feel pity for the Royals because of the ass kicking that they are going to get. Bartolo in the silver and black. Looks great! Let's hope he stays in the silver and black for years to come. -
http://www.local6.com/orlpn/news/stories/n...217-080250.html I know we may not all agree on a lot of things but I am sure we can all agree on how absolutely asinine these people are.

With an argument like that, how can I argue? I'm begging for a half-way intelligent post that refutes what I've said so far about Clayton's stay with the Sox. One free of 10,000 .........'s, typos, and profanity. The presence of profanity further shows that you not only don't have anything important to say, but also that you're not very bright. K-Layton was a clubhouse cancer. He and Johnson were the Trash Brothers (as coined by the SnR staff) Royce was always nearly a guaranteed out whenever we needed him to get a clutch hit. He was Royce the Rally Killer. The guy couldn't bat his way out of a wet paper bag and he had the attitude that he was the best player in baseball history. I can recount numerous games from last season listening to SnR and all of us Sox fan listeners b****ing about Royce and how he was the weak link to the entire team ( outside of Todd's 15 losses....nice trade for Todd, KW ) Royce was the weak link on the team and I am 110% happy that the Sox dumped his ass. And also, I don't see where you get off talking s*** about me or anybody else on this board, noob. I may not agree with a lot of what CubKilla and others may say for the most part but I am most certainly not gonna let a little b**** like you come in and start talking s***. Royce is gone! Long may he rot with the Brewers!

They like having their power trip. I mean, they have lame ass jobs, they need some sort of pseudo-power. Honel won fair and square. We can't help it that nobody from those other teams posted the vote to their team's message boards. They had the opportunity to so why should Honel be penalized because we have intelligent fans?
-
Holy f***. I actually agree with CubKilla. K-Layton can go suck a f***. He's a useless piece of s*** that can rot on the Brewers with Todd. f*** the Brewers and f*** K-Layton.

never heard of them, though I am listening to a band called "Thursday" on a recomendation, which are compared to ATDI... they're alright, I'll have to listen some more, but I'm liking what I hear so far Thursday is pretty good. Check out Sparta, best song has gotta be "Light Burns Clear".

bin laden speaks - saddam power's crumbling
LowerCaseRepublican replied to baggio202's topic in SLaM
"Political power comes from the barrel of a gun" seems to be the general concensus here. You know who said that quote about political power from a gun barrel? Mao Tze-tung, the infamous "Communist" leader of China. I don't mean instigation by that comment, I just thought it was a very close allusion to the "bomb them all for our power purposes" mentality that has been so overwhelming on these boards. -
Cali, do you listen to Sparta? (It used to be At the Drive In but they have a new singer) cuz they are opening for Pearl Jam here. I almost feel guilty that I want to get tickets to the show just to see Sparta.

WHO SAID WE DON'T NEED MISSLE DEFENSE?
LowerCaseRepublican replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in SLaM
CubKilla, I just thought that if you were going to insult somebody, you would want to do it with correct spelling so they couldn't do what I did to minimize your attack. It just makes me laugh that you get this pissed off over something. It is quite amusing. -

Well, we fund the Columbian military with weapons, money, and training. They won't hurt us cuz they know we'd yoink their funding. To the U.S. human rights don't matter....just look at this. Columbian peasants are being massacred on a daily basis and we f***ing fund the regime that is doing it for the simple fact that the regime is hardline anti-communist/socialist. And at the anti-war rally I was at, I do have to commend the comments made by the pro-war activists. They consisted of middle fingers, a guy swerving his car to try to hit us (despite us being away from the road) and watching that guy get into a fender bender cuz of it and a guy in the passenger side of a car that nearly fell out of the car onto the freeway just to say 'f*** the iraqis'. But in London, there were 750,000 anti-war protesters. There were over 150,000 in Australia and they expected 500,000 in Spain. Early estimates from the police about the NYC protest was that over 24 blocks were massed with anti-war protesters. Maybe now Bush will get the message that people don't want war when there are diplomatic peaceful solutions.
