For all of you guys wanting Conforto..... Why do you want Andrew Vaughn in AAA? -

Sure, Conforto is not that. -

.200 avg against one side vs .240 against one side Harper hit better against LHP than what 85-95% of our roster and a majority of MLB players If Harper hits .200 against LHP, yes that is a platoon bat. Your comparisons suck, maybe find one that works to support you argument -

Meaningless to me. Votto has been downhill since like his age 33 season and is on his massive contract still. Its like saying that when Soto hits 40. Who cares about someone getting paid huge at the end of their career on a long term contract. -

He hit for a better AVG against lefties than Conforto did vs righties, you are proving my point.... -

When did he get traded to the Sox? Also 100 RBI's and almost 40 HR. Yeah thats worth $20M+ -

I agree it is. Go pay Castellanos that, go pay Freeman that, go pay Schwarber that, go pay Story that and move Timmy to 2B. Plenty of people we should have gotten/gone after but didn't -

The point is you don't pay $20M+ which is gonna be close to 1/8 of the entire payroll for a platoon bat. -

And the doubt leads to this big question, is Conforto a player that is worth making up 1/8th of your payroll, yeah he would be 1/8th of the payroll.... -

He is 2021: .232 AVG, 14 HR, 55 RBI's 2021 Splits: Vs RHP: .243 AVG, 13 HR, 43 RBI's Vs LHP: .200 AVG, 1 HR, 9 RBI's ?? _____ No one with those stats should ever be paid $20M+ and he's almost 30. So he is more of that than what he was he was younger. Hard pass for me unless they get Conforto on a big discount. -

Bc he is a .230-.250 plattoon bat with around 15-20 HR per year. That is not worth $25M/year That is not worth $20M/year That is not worth $15M/year That's is barely worth $10M/year I would literally rather have Adam Dunn back then pay $20-25M per year for blah. It would be much better to play Vaughn/Sheets in RF bc they ahoiod get you at least what Xofnorto will if not better it. -

To me its more that Conforto is worth no where near what he will get. Not even half of that imo. -

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Polar Bear replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Prospect lists are very biased and subjective. People create them based on video of players and past performances and what they project will be the improvements. Both Colas and Cespedes have little to no video or past performances to base things off of which means lower rankings. Colas is actually on par if not better than someone like Vaquero who was signed in the J15 period as well. The only reason Colas is not in the top 100 like Vaquero is, is because of age. If Colas comes in and does what I expect, he is easily a top 100, if not top 50 prospect. -

Cespedes needs a lot of improvement to show he is more than a 4th OF type. He has it in him but didn't show it on the field last season. I'd imagine he starts at AA and progresses based on improvement. Maybe a late season callup if he is doing great, realistically 2023 is his timeline if he can show improvements though Colas imo is far superior to Cespedes but its gonna depend on how he looks after being out of baseball for 2-3 years bc of international and covid things. Barring a signing and if he meets the hype im laying on him id say early 2023 he is the starting RF for the Sox. The hype is real, but the rust is real as well, its a matter of which is more dominant at this point lol. -

Their starting pitching can compete with almost anyone this year Their hitting has potential but is ultimately their downfall
