  1. In town But to stay on par with the elite we need to add a RF/2B/SP. If not, the other elite teams are on their own tier and then us.
  2. Burger is ready imo and will be around a 0.250-0.275 hitter with 20-25+ HR potential. He has nothing else to improve or show the team in AAA. If the team is not there then he should be in a trade for a RF/2B/SP
  3. Joc does provide us a cheap upgrade short term stop gap until Colas is ready Vaughn can't play RF Sheets can't play Engel van barely play Only one of Sheets and Vaughn can DH imo bc they should not be platooned They should look to trade Sheets and Burger unless they want to go with a legit far superior lineup of SS Timmy 2B Moncada 1B Abreu C Grandal DH Eloy CF Robert LF Vaughn 3B Burger (Insert a RF signing into that lineup somewhere depending on who it is and this lineup is on par with any in baseball)
  4. Thats how I started bc i knew ole cheap JR wouldn't open the wallet for any of the bigger names
  5. If he did it now we could insert a potential 0.260+ hitter with 25+ HR potential into the lineup at 3B. Instead we are taking that hitter and "giving him reps" at 2B lmao. Jerry and TLR are dumb as shit.
  6. JR is a penny pincher. He is gonna take it all with him.
  7. As soon as the lockout ended I has 2 thoughts as to our big signing 1. I wanted the Sox to sign Schwarber as he puts us in an even better win now position (although I knew it wasn't really realistic). 2. More realistically I wanted the Sox to sign Joc Pederson as its a cheaper win now move that provides a stop gap to Colas. I am still hoping for this.
  8. Disagree. You don't pay that bc you have intimate knowledge that he could break down in a playoff run next season so you know you don't want him and he isn't even worth a QO and you have a good idea other teams will see what you do. No way in hell do you risk locking up a ton of money on that big of a risk. If no one trades for him your fucked. Better to do what he did and just stay away.
  9. It's great for him, not worth it though as that injury risk knocks down his true value A LOT. If you knew you were getting a full healthy season of 2021 numbers then sure. There is a reason the Sox passed on a QO that was much cheaper and it aint bc we dont have the room.
  10. Not worth half that, but good for him and good for us as we didnt spend that money on broken goods
  11. None bc are you wanting Gio and Lynn to only start 20
  12. Peralta started 27 so I'd say thats close. Also will depend if they use a 6 man rotation or not
  13. There is something wrong with Rodon. I don't think it had to do with innings it has to do with his motion and throwing across his body. He was breaking no matter how many innings he pitched
  14. For a number 4 starter its not. The Houston Astros had 4 pitcher pitch less than 160 innings. Atlanta has 3 less than 130. I think most of you are delusional about how many innings a good pitcher pitches in 2022. The game has changed. Top tier pitchers are topping 170 (only 29 did last season). A solid pitcher will be between 140-170 (where Kopech will hopefully be this season) Hell i think Kopech can come close to matching Peralta from last year (an ACE in today's game) and he only pitched 144 innings.
  15. 1. Vaughn was horrible mismanaged 2. Kopech isn't Vaughn who had never played above what low A or rookie ball 3. You guys are the most pessimistic site in baseball. Why no one looks at comparable or anything So you think TB fans are freaking out that they have to count on Rasmussen to be what their number 2 or 3 and throw 150+ when he has never in his life thrown more than like 80 professionally. We are talking about a major league starting pitcher who was just used out of the pen to manage his innings This is baseball in 2022, SP just need to go 4-6 innings and thats it. Kopech can do that. I'm more worried about the decline of Gilito/Lynn and Cease's blowups then I am about anything Kopech related
  16. Its not and anyone saying it is, is lying. Kopech has already pitched 135 and 125 innings in a season He even went from 56 to 135 the following season already so everyone needs to shut up about the innings. Kopech will get to 150+ easy assuming good health and management and he has already jumped that much before and was fine. Health will be key but innings are a non factor
  17. I already said he should easily pitch 150+ if he stays healthy and they manage him properly
  18. They ain't signing or getting anyone else was my point. Only way is if they completely soured on ReyLo and put him as the long man in pen
  19. Kopech was already eased in last year. There really will not be much easing going on this season. Maybe a skipped start here or there or a 6 man rotation for a little bit
