  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 13, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) He's gotten quite a few. Yeah dont doubt WSD. He is connected with Rick Hahn. Has gotten quite a few and knew about Quintana trade a day before. Stop ripping on WSD.
  2. Hahn said himself today that it's easier to sell a free agent when he's been around the org, knows what it's about, knows the mission, etc. My guess is theyre putting a value in form of prospects for what that year head start on extension talks looks like and offering that to O's- White Sox Dave https://twitter.com/barstoolWSD/status/941129145031036928
  3. Several offers are on the table for Manny Machado - Cardinals, White Sox, Yankees, Phillies and Giants. #Orioles- Dan clark https://twitter.com/DanClarkSports/status/941126166596927488
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 13, 2017 -> 08:00 PM) Machado is not going to give a negotiating window and honestly he shouldn’t. That guy is near the finish line to being a multiple hundred millionaire. Once again its an if and the deal likely wouldn't happen then.
  5. We should all remain calm. We aren't going to abandon the rebuild. We are only making the trade if A. We can get him to sign an extension and B. It doesn't break the bank prospects wise.
  6. In the end, it's smart of a GM to put feelers out there for a player, especially one that we will go after next year. I dont think Hahn would break the bank for this guy so to speak, but it will cost a higher end prospect.
  7. Would be dumb to try and trade for machado but I like that rick is putting feelers out there.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 04:17 PM) I assume Gardner will get dealt somewhere too. Hicks in CF, Stanton and Kudge in corners and Ellsbury DH. Jon Heyman said that Gardner, Stanton, and Judge will all be rotated in the corner outfield spots and DH. Personally, I think they would get rid of ells bury before Gardner because Gardner is a clubhouse presence.
  9. According to White Sox Dave, the yankees are shopping Clint Frazier and the Giants, Mets, and Braves are all interested. The asking price is a starting pitcher plus two lower level prospects. "He's as good as gone"
  10. Nate Jones is unfortunately a prime time example of someone who's career was taken by injuries
  11. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 8, 2017 -> 11:11 PM) Robert Moncada Stanton Jimenez Abreu Machado Arenado Avi Beef/Collins Mercy RH heavy but whatever. Mercy. Bench: Burger Beer Delmonico Anderson Mercy Awesome to dream, but would never happen in a million years. What a lineup that would be tho
  12. Guy hates the cubs. Will forever love him and hope he comes back for that
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 1, 2017 -> 11:57 AM) Garcia to DL I'm assuming? Yep Willy Garcia to the DL with a concussion
  14. love to see two good outings in a row from giolito today, if Stephens has a good outing today he should be called up after Reynaldo is called up. Good to see sheets having a good game as well
  15. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 12:30 PM) As far as AAA first basemen go, I Gillaspie ranked ahead of Delmonico and Hayes? Prospect wise yes and he probably will be starting once he comes off the DL but who knows
  16. Not sure if we need a topic for this, but what a bomb and hopefully the first of many!!
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 05:43 PM) I don't care if he chases first pitch, but at least have a plan and swing hard. He rarely hits anything with authority anymore Also a very lazy player. Lazy defense causing him to have the most errors, lazy approach causing him to strikeout, lazy base running. The dude basically walks out the box every time he hits something. Just a flat out lazy player.
  18. obviously not a wowing return, but this is what we were always gonna get for Anthony swarzak. This kid we acquired can play a lot of positions and he will be very helpful throughout this rebuild. Might even develop into a good player, who knows?
  19. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 05:50 PM) The fact that this is even a thread is ridiculous. The guy missed most of the season, give him time to get himself sorted out. Not a ridiculous thread by any means. I think he can be and most likely will be a great pitcher. But as of right now the dude can't even control his fastball. He needs to find his command in order to fulfill his potential, which is a lot easier said than done.
  20. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Jul 23, 2017 -> 05:28 PM) Is anyone concerned that he can't pull the ball whatsoever? I don't feel as though this is concerning.
  21. we have a very, very, very bad ball club on our hands. Could easily obtain the number one pick, and I feel like the superstar is either gonna be Brady singer (pitcher from Florida) or brice turang (SS high school).
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 05:01 PM) Completely agree. Seemed we were in the same position as the Bulls. 0 legit prospects, an owner who didn't want us rebuilding for years because of his age, etc. When Rick made his mired in mediocrity speech, we knew we were probably gonna and even at the deadline we were open for selling. So we were looking forward to selling off assets and getting good returns. Now we have all of the goods and our team is so bad. Now we have to wait and it sucks
  23. that article fails to realize that for years we didn't focus on the farm system at all and never really kept our higher round picks. Also, the guys at the top of our list who have all failed were only at the top of the list because our farm system was dead last.
