  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 06:06 PM) So cute. So full of hope. 2 words: Scott Boras. Boras has negotiated extensions before, not like it can't be done. Even if he does opt for free agency in like 5 years, we will need him for the start of contention. You don't trade away a guy who has all the potential in the world and hasn't even scratched it yet as a 24 year old just because you're in a rebuild. Thats how you become continually bad.
  2. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 05:52 PM) He will at some point, he won't be extended and he will hit free agency right in the middle of the contention window. If he has a second half similar to last season I can see him getting moved over the winter especially with the what quality pitching is going to cost in FA. It's way too early to tell if he won't be extended. For now he's very young and very controllable and hasn't even scratched his potential. He fits right into the rebuild, and I highly doubt he gets moved.
  3. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:29 PM) Theres always someone to trade. After this round of trades we will have Rodon, Abreu, Avi, Sanchez, Jones, and whoever takes over at closer to talk about in the winter. Rodon will not be traded
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) Yeah, just a little. I'm glad people like the at-home GM game, but I just want July 31st to get here and see what's new for the rebuild. For right now it's all we have, unfortunately. Anybody else think about how boring it's gonna be when we suck and there's no one left to trade?
  5. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) Frazier + Adams + Florial I would do Brinson + Ortiz + Phillips I would do Rodgers + McMahon + Almonte back I would do Albies + Gohara + Pache I would do Tucker + Whitley/Perez + solid third piece I would do Yankees package is light Would take Brewers Rockies in a heartbeat Braves would also take in a heartbeat Astros is ok
  6. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 03:46 PM) That's probably fairest of the four but I would take that for Q right now and not look back. I think people need to adjust their expectations. So I'm guessing that quintana's value has somewhat diminished?
  7. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 03:34 PM) Sox would make every one of those trades. Which opposing teams wouldn't do those trades?
  8. Who says no or do they both do it: White Sox: Quintana Yankees: Frazier, Andujar, Fowler White Sox: Quintana Braves: Acuna, Soroka, Gohara +lotto White Sox: Quintana Brewers: Brinson, Dubon, Phillips +lotto White Sox: Quintana Rockies: Rodgers, McMahon, Lambert
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) whitesoxdave‏ @barstoolWSD Haven't heard anything at all today buttttt apparently Cease was just scratch from his start tonight Cubs number 2 prospect number 63 in MLB top 100. Doubt it has anything to do with the sox.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) I am in 100% agreement with this entire post. Love Q and the professional that he's been during his time in Chicago, but I'm ready for him to move so we can start to see a lot more of the kids. After Q, I would say that Robertson, Swarzak, Holland, Gonzalez, Frazier, and Cabrera all have to be dealt too at a minimum. Still think Robertson ends up in Washington. Kahnle too. And I get that we need to sell sell sell...but if teams don't match the price on these guys then only a few of them might move this deadline. I would say trade Frazier for whatever you can get since he's a free agent after this season. Same with melky.
  11. White sox Dave replying to someone on twitter claiming the white sox aren't deep in talks. He replies that that is incorrect.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:16 AM) Soo... Has a starter been announced for Friday yet? QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) Not really. The schedule was set up that it didn't make sense to have him scheduled on the 30th or 31st, when it's crunch time. In my opinion, there's not really a difference between pitching on the 30th and the 28th. It is fairly interesting they pushed him back, and waited longer to release their probable rotation.
