  1. I was at the 2009 game. Had just graduated high school a week prior. Good times.
  2. I'm not watching but looks like LuPuss is being LuPuss again. Sad.
  3. He'll never have defensive value. He needs to be a monster at the plate to bring value. I think he's still capable but has a ways to go.
  4. Agree. The Harrison hate is too much. Does he suck? Yeah kinda, but he's far from our biggest problem. He's been fine for 2+ months now and there's no internal option better. We roll with Harrison for the rest of 2022.
  5. The first 3 batters for Cleveland all struck out in the bottom of the 8th. They scored 6 runs in the inning. Fuck Detroit.
  6. Cleveland threatening to take the lead. Inning should have been over 4 batters ago on a dropped 3rd strike
  7. Agree on that. They seem to never push the envelope or ask tough questions. I just went and checked out the quote from TLR. Seems like his surprise was that Cueto said something like that publicly. Seemed to be hinting that all of that stuff stays in the clubhouse and shouldn't be discussed with the press. I don't think he was surprised by the comment itself, just the fact that it was being said publicly by a player. Other reports indicate he knew there was a problem in the clubhouse and was planning a meeting with the "veteran group" even before this Cueto comment. But who knows? Tony is nearly 80 so he's not exactly at his sharpest when talking.
  8. I don't see the reason a manager would tell the media that his clubhouse has a problem. Seems like something to handle internally, which it was.
  9. Tony got the boys HOT. Sizzlin' hot. 5 in a row since this meeting. Extend Tony.
  10. What did he say specifically? I didn't see it. But I don't think we should take what a manager says to the media at face value all the time. Only reason this meeting is now public is because Liam mentioned it in an interview. The meeting took place before the Detroit series when the Sox got back to Chicago from KC.
  11. Maybe Tony is wearing Leury's underwear
  12. Remember that time Tony called a meeting and saved our season? Extend Tony.
  13. I also had to wait an inning+. I agree it was worth it.
  14. Had the Cuban Sandwich last night for the first time. Amazing!
  15. Yes, drop our most productive hitter for a decade in the order because of a 13 AB sample size.
  16. My understanding is that if he is claimed on waivers, then the option still exists. If he clears waivers, then he is eligible to sign with any team and the option would be wiped out.
  17. Any background on why Andrus was released? He's not having a bad season by any means. Basically a league average hitter for his position and is above average against left handed pitching. July was his best month of 2022 as far as OPS goes. This seems like a no brainer for the Sox. EDIT: Sounds like it may have been due to his option potentially vesting if the A's kept him around. A's being cheap could work to our benefit.
  18. Crowd was electric. They must have sensed our presence. I was also in attendance. Game turned around after I ate a waffle cone. I'm not saying I'm the reason we won but I'm not ruling it out either.
