There is no doubt Mercedes is the better hitter vs Collins right now, whether you think that's because of age idk (I don't). I don't even think that's arguable. The difference (which I don't know) is that Collins is probably better with the glove AND probably has a higher ceiling overall.

I think with the roster expansion people can more easily hold a bat first player than before. I mean, if the Sox took a guy like that in the R5 we would all be elated.

Someone who hit like him in AAA and all levels before I think will almost certainly be claimed. There are just sooooo many rebuilding teams in the league. He's the perfect guy o take, who actually projects to be a hitter.

He'd cost a pretty penny.. Something we don't have.
