  1. I have been a fan of targeting Peralta cheaply. He would cost less than Pederson on the trade market i'd imagine
  2. I think the idea would be to get Gray or someone else young to come back while taking on his salary.
  3. This whole Semien and Samardzija backlash is such a joke. NO ONE and I mean no one disliked that trade when it was made. Samardzija was coming off productive years and we looked like we finally wanted to contend. Semien was a UTL player at best. We all agreed on that then. It just so happens that Samardzija turned into a terrible pitcher and Semien (5 years later) became a star... Hindsight is nice... But not when you use it to act like we never should have made the deal, when in reality we all loved it.
  4. I'm glad Twins got him. Maybe now they'll focus more on the middle tier SP and not on the top 3.
  5. That's not a bad contract for Will Smith.
  6. I'm not saying it wasn't a good deal... I am saying they won't give away Greinke for much less than they gave up.
  7. I also am a believer, and he is the perfect guy to take a risk on.. But what would it take?
  8. Obviously.. But they wouldn't. They literally gave the DBacks two good prospects for him. They could get the same back
  9. Any 3 year deal is worse. Barf.
  10. Once you are offered a QO you can NEVER be offered another one again. That's why Grandal does not have a QO this year because last year he was given one (and rejected)
  11. I'd take the QO and risk getting a 2 for 15 million next year honestly.
  12. as long as it's a team option, that's fine.
  13. If it were last year Keuchel VS this year Odorizzi (so when both went to FA with qO attached) it's a no brained Kuechel. And the poor dude couldn't sign.
  14. I hope he is just wrong about the 3 years thing........
  15. I think 4 for 60 is about his MAX if he went into FA.
  16. Man that's still a pretty strong SP crop next year. Albeit all mid-rotation guys.
  17. I just wanted a LH backup catcher and he fit. But that's interchangeable
  18. This is probably about right. 2 for 25-30 is about all i'd go.
  19. So we all are making offseasons of a top pitcher and top hitter. Which would be ideal. But would people HATE a SP heavy offseason? I mean, would you really hate something like this: Wheeler - 5 years 115 million Ryu - 4 years 70 million Delin Betances - 3 years 20 million Encanacion - 1 year 12 million Kole Calhoun - 1 year 7 million Matt Wieters - 1 year 5 million Abrue accepts QO All hitters are 1 year deals. Encarnacion is still a fantastic hitter but otherwise we are going into the season hoping Moncada, Eloy, Anderson, Robert, Madrigal and Abreu all produce at the same level or better essentially, which is risky. We really upgraded the pitching a ton. This is an offseason I could still get behind despite not getting Grandal or Castellanos or a different bigger name.
  20. Teams still have time to protect players
  21. I actually love it... Let's go.. I think they're all pissed and embarrassed about what happened last year.
  22. I am pretty comfortable at 5 years 110 million for Wheeler as we sit today.
