GRANDAL DOES NOT SOLVE DH

I'd much prefer him to Avi. Obviously I have 5+ guys ahead of him. But he'd be cheap, and a big improvement. He has averaged 2.5 WAR his past 10 seasons

after watching the Astros again.. He's a guy I would be completely fine with.

I'd rather give him a chance than give Ozuna 100million or re-tread down the terrible Avi path.

Dozier and Kipnis would both be cheap veteran options. Dozier has far more upside but Kipnis is LH and is familiar with our division

I don't think the amount of money given out is unrealistic.. I think signing the #4-8 free agents is unrealistic. There are other teams.

I'm taking into account his past few years as well.

I actually think those contracts will be pretty accurate. He may be a tad low on McHugh but a tad high on Wood.

I am honestly SOOOO baffled by the overwhelming support of Grandal >>>> JD Martinez. It really doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Literally a top 3 hitter in the game. I understand Grandal is a good hitter and defender. But my lord, what catchers actually catch into their mid-30s and are successful? Certainly not many, if any. Plus many of you want to sign Grandal to DH him 2-3 times a week to get McCann in the lineup.... Isn't that what JD would do but on a far higher scale. LH vs RH batter matters if the hitters are close to the same scale.. But they are't even in the same stratosphere. I simply don't get it.

This is basically everything going right and us signing ALL of the big names outside the big 3 (Cole, Stras, Rendon). Sadly won't happen

I love the idea of Hill.. He can never stay healthy so plan for 100 innings. But he is awesome when he pitches AND we have Kopech and Rodon coming back so we would have the bodies to fill his injuries. I like that idea as our 2nd starter added.

I mean how much realistic value does Collins have? An okay RP?

It's honestly an interesting idea.... covers our RF AND provides us with a powerful LH DH bat... I would actually like this assume they picked up 1/3 -1/2 of his salary.

My assuption and prediction will be that pitching is slow this year waiting for Cole and Strasburg to sign and set the market... So I will predict our first move is trading for Nomar Mazara...
