Ugh...hope its not an oblique, that will really hurt his trade value.

Colleen Kane‏@ChiTribKane 15m15 minutes ago Todd Frazier said it's likely an oblique strain. Injured it while he was swinging. Said no reason to test it now with such a long spring.

IMO it's pretty poor training to have this happen.

The exhibition season hasn't even started yet and they have already had two guys go down.

And it is all downhill from here. Wait until some of the guys that are going to save us start failing.

And then Chris Sale's arm will explode into a million tiny pieces

Isn't that a good thing in a season where they are rebuilding?

edit: As long as it's not one of the young rebuilding pieces that is.

Or a trade chip.

But yeah, good luck convincing Lip of that.

That's why I always said during this past Bears season. If there's any year to get destroyed by the injury bug, it's better when you have no chance to compete and need a better draft pick. As long as it's not the young guys like the Leonard Floyd concussions.

I get the positives of him being injured, but we need him healthy and producing to trade him away for other controllable pieces.

Those oblique strains seem to take quite a while to recover from. Guys seem to heal from it in a fair amount of time, but it seems to be an injury that lingers in hitting mechanics for quite a while.

No, not in this case, it is better that he is healthy and putting up good numbers to help get more pieces back for him to aid in the rebuild.

True... although you never want to see anyone get hurt.
