May 16th Game Thread: ChiSox @LA Angels of Anaheim

He was fine in his first inning of work, that also wasn't a save situation. He got beat in his second inning, which usually never goes well for a closer, and again, nothing was hit hard. Give it a rest.

He hung pitches badly to Valbuena and Marte in his first inning

I would like to reiterate what I said earlier that Melky can not get out of here fast enough.

We had 3 outs that inning

He's in contention for fWAR triple crown this year. 12th worst base runner, 10th worst hitter and easily worst defensive rating. Sounds like a #3 hitter to me

On the Angels broadcast I didn't see Melky fall. Nor did the announcers mention it. All I saw was a huge gap in left center and Anderson sprinting a mile to try to catch it and Leury over running it.If Melky fell why be upset? It's possible to spin your wheels and fall especially if he fell right away when starting his sprint.

I actually missed the play as I was in the shower (the Anderson homer too), but I said that earlier in this game thread even before that. He's a terrible player. I was reading what happened here and wasn't surprised.

That year we signed Cabrera, Robertson, LaRoche, Bonifacio, Geo Soto, Beckham...NOT GOOD. Not to mention JB Shuck.

Must be one of the worst free agent classes (at least 5 players) in recent MLB history.

And there was the Samardzija disaster that year. Hahn is quite lucky JR is so loyal

Not to mention Drake LaRoche's trail led eventually to the Eaton/Sale/Zach Duke Massacre.

Worst player in baseball this year. Good thing he's batting 3rd

lol.

He regressed.

I missed the botched squeeze play in 9th. Can someone please recap it for me? Thanks.
