This whole series is predicated on the fact the Nationals offense has been abysmal. Trea Turner is terrible.

If Wade Davis pitches the 8th and 9th of game 2, the series is over with the Nats scoring 3 runs in the series.

I think the cub rout them today. Jake goes 5 and the bullpen ends it.

If Strasberg leaves via free agency, the sad window of the Nats closes with very bland results.

Strasberg doesn't get a chance to opt-out until after the '19 season so he's their for two more years. They will lose Worth to FA this winter which opens up some payroll (21M) and reduces their outfield clutter. They will contend again next year.

As for today's game, I think it's gonna be an ugly one.

Just checked the weather and the start time for today's game. It's going to be a cool wet one this afternoon.

A rainout would be interesting because it makes Strasburg available for game 4 on full rest instead of throwing Tanner Roark out there.

Yeah it would. I'm hoping for a rain out to be honest. Just looked at the radar and it's looks like the rain will get here before game time.

The fact that the Boston game time, which started at noon yesterday was not announced until midnight (less than 12 hours prior to first pitch) shows you just how the networks run sports. That was absurd.

No way in hell this is rained out.

I don't think this is accurate. I coulda sworn I saw the game time as noon on Sunday when I looked.

It was dependent on the Yankees game Sunday night, which ended late. Had the Indians completed the sweep, Boston would have played at 7, but since the Yankees won, the game started at 1.

Really? That's messed up. MLB should have told TBS to get bent were starting the game at 1:00.

I agree MLB should have that authority, but isn't this why they have all of the built in off days? It should be an easy call to play tomorrow if it's going to rain all night.

Yeah, I don't get how TBS can trump the MLB on this unless there's something in the contract between the MLB and TBS. Turner has always been a slick bastard.

I just looked at the weather and there's rain expected tomorrow too so maybe that's why the MLB is going to get this one in today? Haven't seen anything stating the game will be delayed so I guess it's game on at 4:30.

Game to begin in a rain delay, situation to be re assessed at 430.

Lol, never mind.

If Strasberg does not start he will not be boarding the plane home.

Gio should be ready to go today as well.

The handling of pitchers by that organization is an epic failure if they do not win this series.

How many things are just handed to the cubs.

This is almost as bad as Francona wasting Salazar in game 6 last year and not starting him in game 7 last year.
