Johnny B Good!

2 points from playoffs, 3 points from last place.

Been a rejuvenating year for him.

And as Tony pointed out earlier, what a trade by Bowman to net Strome.

In a vacuum, no. With the existing long-term salaries on the Hawks? Yes. Ask Toronto how having 3 forwards making $11M annually is working for them.  Look at it this way: DeBrincat+Saad or Panari

He's been spectacular,Bowman hit gold with Strome. Hawks are finally on the receiving end of a team giving up a bit too early on talent.

As Pat Foley likes to say Patrick Kane got his turdy turd goal of the year with tree turdy tree left in the turd. Hawks win 7th in a row 5-2 over Red Wings, Strome Kahun DeBrincat line had 1st  3 goals for Hawks. Kane extends point streak to 14 games with a goal.

I don't know what finally clicked, but this is looking like a vintage Hawks squad.

Getting used to and buying into the new system with the new coach, Vintage Kane and Toews. Cutting Keith's ice time especially on the PP and letting Gustafsson quarterback it. Getting Murphy and Forsling back . Sending Jokiharju down for more experience and replacing him with a more defensive minded guy like Dahlstrom. The talent of Strome resurfacing. Kahun feeling more comfortable and secure in his role . DeBrincat sniping on the PP because Kane is magic with the puck. The stronger defense making the goalies look better.

Lets face it the team has undergone a major facelift since the beginning of the season and for the moment at least it's come together and if they can continue to play at  this higher level and make the playoffs they could surprise us even more.

Will be very interesting to see what else the Hawks do before the February 25th trade deadline.

Real nice number from Stan.

What years does that buy out?  Up to RFA or UFA?

He was an RFA for the 2019-2020 season

That is a great deal then for the Hawks.

That is a hell of a deal for Delia. Even if he only pans out as a backup.

Raises a question. I know we don't know when Crawford will come back and even if he does another concussion is a real possibility. Might Ward be traded ? Would the Hawks roll with Crawford and Delia knowing the risks for Crawford right when the Hawks are rolling and if not then does Delia get sent down instead ?

Ward is a UFA after this season. Unless you meant this season where Crawford coming back is still a bit away, then I'm sure they'll have Delia go down as Ward has a NMC.

Yes this year since Crawford is already practicing in full and feels back to normal he might be back ( who knows) before the Feb 25th trade deadline.Pretty sure the NMC means they'd just need Wards permission to move him. Hell maybe they try to deal Crawford since he also has a NMC but also only a partial NTC.

NO one is going to touch that Crawford deal after all of the concussion problems.

That's what I figured but I think they try . Could eat some of it. Maybe eat a year of the remaining 2 years . See if any contender bites.

Crawford only is signed through 19-20. Next year is the last year of his deal.

Hawks have played an incredibly sloppy period.

That or they are playing a far superior team after an easier portion of the schedule.

You're right . I was looking at this year and next year as 2 years.

The killer B's!

Too bad he couldn't play with his Erie Otter teammates in Chicago.
