6/13 Games

Luis Rodriguez (19 y.o) having a strong start in DSL. 16ks in 13 IP, 3 BBs.

Last year he did have nearly a 9 k/ip rate but also was like 4.5 BB/IP.

23% walk rate isn't amazing but interesting nonetheless.

Sosa 1-1, 2 R, RBI, BB

Bush 1-2, R, 2 RBIs

So far.

Robert 0-1

Madrigal single (CS).

Basabe BB.

Madrigal double.

He likes AA

13-24, .542

He (and the Barons) are facing Jorge Guzman too who is one of the top pitching prospects for Miami as well.

He made Robert look absolutely silly last at bat.

Got a question for you, as I know you watch a ton of the games live....why does Robert hit so many infield pop ups to the right side?  And no, this isn't a criticism, just wondering if it's a swing path issue.

I saw on gameday he swung at pitches waaaay out of the zone.

I'm not qualified to answer anything about a swing path to be honest. I will say that Robert has the most trouble with breaking balls low and away from him. He chases an awful lot of slop. It does quite often result in weak contact out in that direction.

I wonder if Nicky gets a taste of AAA this year if he keeps producing. (Obviously the average is going to come down.)

Man, that sucks about Casey Mize. I'm so discouraged by pitching prospects lately that I want to just avoid drafting them.

I had just got done listening to Callis give him just about the most praise you'll ever hear about a prospect on the podcast with Clinton Cole

Madrigal finally records an out.
