Neither is an even better option.

If Herrera is healthy, he's still good as he was good in April and May.

Healthy Herrera>Ruiz AINEC.

I have to believe that Herrera has been bothered by something since he got kilt around Memorial Day.

Good. Let Ruiz develop more in AAA. I can squint and actually see a good reliever down the line.

What happened to Minaya? Wasn't he pitching well? Did he get hurt?

Good Herrera is fine.  Bad Herrera is unwatchable.

They have no choice with Herrera, they're on the hook for $9-$10 million next season.

Option the prospect; keep the organizational minor leaguers.

They really need Herrera to be good next year. Colome, Bummer, a good Herrera is at least a start. Add Betances and another arm in the offseason and then take the best 2-3 young arms out of spring training.
