He's had a really nice season. Why do you think he will only get 5th starter money?

Injuries. He might get better than that but not more than an extra year or two. Think Lance Lynn.

Check out how they fared in FA last offseason . Every one of the players has a negative WAR. They make Hahn look almost competent.

  • Awesome performance from RF and DH spots again

Gio with another great outing, that second run is on Abreu.

7 IP, 2 ER.  Yep, will take that every day thank you very much Drake LaRoche.

Just rewound it and watched it slowly. You're right. Abreu should of got that.

I wonder if Gio was mad at himself or Abreu? He still looked pissed coming off the mound to end the inning.

I'd say Gio is having one of the best performances in a storied franchise history but thats not the case.

Also Mike Minor and Lance Lynn being better than Gio and to a greater extent, Verlander, shows that needs to be adjusted very soon in terms of WAR.

Seriously. We think our organization is a mess, but the Angels are far worse.

They've got one of the best players in baseball history, and in his eight years with the team, they've put up a winning record thrice and only went to the playoffs once (and got swept right out). Pujols went from being one of baseball's greats to being atrocious for pretty much his entire time with the team. Upton fell off a cliff, Ohtani's been unremarkable, and after Adell, their farm system has nothing.

I'm still sore at them for trying to put some sort of asterisk on our success even though they got destroyed in the 2005 ALCS, so I don't feel bad about it at all.

Poor Giolito

Bad night for Bummer. Can't throw strikes and the inning extends when he makes a bad throw to 2nd. Now he cost Giolito the win.

Stone was just begging for that to happen with his talk about how you'd much rather face Goodwin than Trout (although, obv that is true)

The 2 homers the Angels hit have to be the cheapest ones I have seen in one game.

Bummer obviously doesn‘t have anyhing tonight.

That Goodwin one was something quite ridiculous

Makes the fact that the Sox rank among the bottom of the league in homers even harder to grasp.

I think the Sox use the baseballs from 2010 when they are batting.

Abreu CANNOT be the 1st baseman next year... He needs to be DH. His defense at 1st has been just atrocious. @vilehoopster your opinion that he is average or good at 1st is a joke.

Was thinking today they would have had about 80 more homers if they landed Manny, Joc and Cruz this offseason as opposed to playing Yolmer, Jay and Alonso.

Thought Eloy for sure got enough of that one

Wow what a bad pitch from Colome. His stuff has sure been flat since the trade deadline. No chance in the world can you go into next year with him as the closer.

Awe geez. What a meltdown. They needed 6 outs with Bummer and Colome and couldn't get the job done.

Non-tender candidate? I get why they didn't trade him but it's looking like a bad decision.

I thought they should have seriously considered moving Bummer as well.

Despite what I said, they will keep him for closer next year.  I will be stunned if they don’t.

That might be the hottest take of them all.

They won’t non-tender him. They will point to his save percentage as a reason to keep him there

Why.not pinch hit Collins here?
