October 21, 200322 yr is there a snow balls chance in hell that joe torre could be the next sox skipper? or will that never happen?
October 21, 200322 yr Torre is used to making $5 million a year. I don't know how effective he would be managing a team with a quarter of the payroll he is used to. IMO, if he isn't managing the Yankees next season, I don't think he will be managing.

IMO, if he isn't managing the Yankees next season, I don't think he will be managing. Then if your logic is correct, he won't be managing, because I don't see him back with the Yankees, win or lose.
October 21, 200322 yr I thought all reports were that torre was staying. I didn't think the Boss wanted to get rid of him.
October 21, 200322 yr I thought all reports were that torre was staying. I didn't think the Boss wanted to get rid of him. Stein did say that he wants Torre back, win or (god I hope) lose.
October 21, 200322 yr I thought all reports were that torre was staying. I didn't think the Boss wanted to get rid of him. There are rumors that he will quit, win or lose.
October 21, 200322 yr There are rumors that he will quit, win or lose. That's what I heard. GS said he "won't fire" Torre because Torre will resign at season's end for the NYY.
October 21, 200322 yr Everything is set up for him to leave. Zimmer is leaving. The other coaches seem to have been on hot seat all season. I think Torre bolts town. I DO NOT want him here, many coaches could win with that talent.
October 21, 200322 yr My grandpa said that Torre and Steinbrennar are starting to get sick of each other, and said that there is a good chance Torre will leave. He said it would be nice if he became the Sox next skipper.
October 22, 200322 yr I can't see Torre back with the Yanks next season, win or lose. Win and I think he's likely to retire or take a year off. I heard him earlier this year saying he wasn't having any fun. Lose and I think the BIG STIEN will have his head on a platter for not being able to beat up on the lowly Marlins.
October 22, 200322 yr Torre won't be back next season, win or lose. I'm not so sure, if Steinbrenner fires him he'll obviously be gone but I'm not sure you just give up $5 million dollars.
October 22, 200322 yr I would consider Torre become the White Sox manager an extreme longshot at best. Too many things would have to fall perfectly in place. But, then again, that's exactly what happened with Baker and the Scrubs last off season.
