April 15, 20223 yr For all starters not named Giolito, Lynn, Kopech, Cease and Keuchel…the optimal goal would be a .500 record in these games, although .450-.475 is perhaps more likely. Team Record 1-2 Velasquez (0-1), 8 2/3 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 6 BB, 7 K’s=4.15 ERA Lambert (0-1), 3 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, BB, K=6.00 ERA Total…11 2/3 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 7 BB, 8 K’s. 4.63 ERA. 1.37 WHIP. About as good as could possibly be expected so far, right? (Looks pretty similar to what we're HOPING to get out of Keuchel, actually.) Edited April 18, 20223 yr by caulfield12

About as good as could possibly be expected so far, right? I thought Lambert did ok but last night the bats couldn't carry him. I may be wrong but I thought he pitched a little better than the bare stats and Velasquez was a little worse than his bare stats, but if we get away with a .500 record in their combined starts then we will be doing very well!

April 15, 20223 yr If Giolito/Lynn/Cease/Kopech combine for over 110 starts, it's going to be hard for this team to not win at least 90 games.
April 16, 20223 yr Interesting tidbit in the Tribunal. Vince V debuted against the Sox in 2015 with five shutout innings.
April 17, 20223 yr So, this rotation has literally been the strength of this team without Rodon, Lynn, and Giolito. ERA: 2.27, OPP AVG: .153, OPP OPS: .506, K %: .270, WHIP: .95 Thats first in the AL for all those stats
April 17, 20223 yr Author First Sox starter to give up more than 3 runs. Michael Wacha @ $7 million >>> VV and Cueto Plus we are about to destroy the bullpen before two important divisional series on the road.

Not many starters are going past 5 innings. At least VV got 4+ innings.

Well, this was said in the first inning when it looked like VV wasn't even going to escape that situation... They used mostly the back end and guys who won't even be on the roster in a month, but it's looking quite likely they will have at least one doubleheader this week.
