October 24, 200322 yr McKeon is going with Beckett in game 6 and probably Pavano in game 7. Both on short rest.ESPN
October 24, 200322 yr I hate to say it but that looks like another NY worlds series championship. Mckeon has made all the right moves. You're bound to make a wrong descision sooner or later, but if any team can overcome this, It's the Marlins.
October 24, 200322 yr Sorry we are talking about a 23 year old kid. Toss him out there and break out the champagne. Don't go to a game 7 in Yankee stadium with all the ghosts. The kid will be all right. And he'll get pulled before it's too late.

October 25, 200322 yr Here is how I see it Can't go with Redman because he sucks against the Yanks Even though Willis pitched great in his last elimination start against the Giants (great until he spent half an hour running the bases) You can't pitch him because he is really fatigued Helling would be a bad fit in this game So you go with beckett
October 25, 200322 yr Hmm this decision will make or break da Marlins. Beckett deserves to win da final game and I hope he does, he'll turnin out to be one hell of a pitcher, prob da best young 1 in da game rite now. There's valid arguments for and against startin Beckett. Ken Rosenthal ripped Jack McKeon for making that decision making because of da 3 day rest for him and Pavano, plus he thinks it'll do long term damage for Beckett's arm, health wise. Personally I don't think Pavano can win in game 7, he's not a big game pitcher, and under da pressure at the Bronx, I think he'll choke. So Beckett's gotta win in game 6 for da Marlins to win da World series in my opinion. Castillo gettin a hit would help too, lol. My perfect ending would be game 7, 0-0 tie in the top of the 9th, Miggy Cabrera hits a towering homer to win da World Series.

He pitched well in game 6 in Chicago when the Marlins needed a win and he pitched well in his start against the Yankees in thie WS. He seems to be doing just fine in big games to me.

October 25, 200322 yr McKeon is making the only decision he can make. He's going with his best two pitchers in games 6 & 7 of the World Series. That's a no brainer. As for long term damage to those guys. That's BS. It's not like he's doing this over the course of a season, which pitcher's used to do consistently, anyway.
October 25, 200322 yr i dont know if i agree with this decision. Beckett on regular rest could pitch game 7 better IMO. BUT, he pitched well in relief vs the Cubs on 3 days rest and i wouldnt want Redman out there, so.....either way i hope it works out. God i hat the Yankee$. Go Marlins!
October 26, 200322 yr I didn't agree with the decision at the time. Now it seems like genious, but I was worried at first.
October 26, 200322 yr Pretty funny that he went on pretty short rest and pitched a CG Shutout on the Yanks at home in the WS. Pretty amusing stuff.
October 26, 200322 yr The kids a stud.... he deserves every accolade he is getting rigth now.... Flat out pitched his heart out. carried the team while he was out there.
